Tejay stepped up and executed in the TT today. Nice work on his part to max out effort one last time and move up to top five. Hope he has a nice relaxing day on the way into Paris tomorrow!!

Slaying The Badger was awesome!

I watched it today on network TV so I'm not sure if it replays regularly on cable...
if it does, DON'T MISS IT!

Kids and general busy-ness have kept me from the TdF these past two years (being out of the country the first half of this month also contributed). So these past few days, I've been at my son's swim meet here in Riverside, CA. We're back at the room chilling this afternoon and I flip on the TV to watch something while eating lunch from a great Middle Eastern restaurant (Elias Pita).

OK... here is some old footage of the TdF... that's the ticket! Ends up it was Slaying the Badger. I caught most of it and it's very engaging, interesting, and moving. That was the sole reason I came to the thread this year, but I decide to skim through the earlier posts. And saw that Bruce recommended it a few pages back.

I think it really opens a window into the deep human complexity that is engrained in this race.

Check it out!

bhilden's point at the top of the page seems under appreciated to me.

What everyone in the program was alluding to was that Peter Sagan has signed a three-year deal to ride for Tinkoff-Saxo next year. Also, Garmin will be switching to riding Cannondale bikes for 2015. These two bits of information spell the end of the Cannondale Factory Team.

Sagan -> Tinkoff. I never saw Tinkoff-Saxo and Astana becoming the dominant teams in cycling. Sky is history. I guess it's up to Garmin and the nouveau French to fight the Hegemony!

Sky isn't history.

...and so it's over, just like that.

To those who say this wasn't one of the most exciting tours of our lifetimes "SHUT UP (legs)!" you don't know what you are talking about. A buncha' Johnny come latelys.

The French performance, the Navardauskas win, Tejay, Majka, Lars Boom, Kristof, Gallopin, Vincenzo, Tony Martin, Bauer, Kittel, Li Cheng, the British fans, insane.....WOW.

I can't wait till next year.

Hey, one thing I noticed during the podium presentations.....Pinot was never gracious to Nibali. Pinot avoided any handshakes etc. Nibali tried but...I wonder what was going on there.

Nibali was completely gracious and giving to the other jersey guys.

Pinot was the only guy able to keep up on Nibali's mountain wins but not able to win. WTF?

Time will tell.

The competitive future of the Tour is great . . . perhaps this year's chaos has ushered in a new era. Too bad we did not get to see Nibali battle Contador and Froome in the mountains, but then again, maybe he was stronger than them regardless. We will never know . . . fate determines the result. Nibali showed no weakness, even in the ITT. Pinot has a long road ahead.
