I have to argue with the IRS and I don't have a militia. One place where I've only been complying, not winning (yet).

At one time the IRS was threatening to take my property. I called them up and explained that they
really should not have thrown my form 2210 away. After a pause the poor fellow on the other end
said, "sorry. I'll take care of it." And he did. Good things can happen.

My mom died of cancer when I was 13.
My grandmother died of cancer when I was in my early 30's.
My auntie died of cancer 2 years ago.
I've had a lump in my breast for 3 years that needs to be checked again.
Someone I love is currently dealing with cancer in his family...and never complains.

Stop whining, go smell the roses, be happy to be alive, be happy to be loved by someone, esp. parents or good friends, and most important, Enjoy Life.

My feet are always cold, they ache throb and have constant dull burning sensation...

Yeah. Very sensitive to the touch. Keeps me awake at night.

It's okay to whine (and not be ashamed!) as long as you don't allow your troubles to drag you under and you look for, recognize, and appreciate the good when it comes.

One of my favorite quotes is by Helen Keller.

"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow."

Edited to add: Cancer sucks. Lost my mom to it 9 years ago.

I'm whining in jest, cuz I'm bored and its funny not serious.

I'm stuck on the couch a broken foot. Who knows if it will heal proper for me to recreate the 30 hrs a week I do.

Still I am not paralyzed brain damaged or in serious debt so all is well life will go on.

Well the sore achy feet suck as they are chronic..

Out of wine!

But are you out of whine?

I'd whine if I were hung by a new rope.

Those rolls of plastic bags in the food store---you know the ones where you stand there like a moron trying to get the ends to uncling while everybody in the store is probably smirking and laughing over what a clueless dummy you are.
Somebody please come along with a plastic bag that automatically un clings when exposed to the heat of your hand---millions$ to be made.

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky
you'll get by.

If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through
For you.

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile-
If you just smile.

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile-
If you just smile.

Speaking of Charlie Chaplin, doesn't Anita bear an uncanny resemblance to Paulette Goddard?

My daughter whines too much, my son can do more pull ups than me, my wife is out of town, my shoulder hurts, found out today I'm not getting a promotion, too warm for winter sports, too cold for summer sports, it's dark, and the Avette Brothers are sold out for probably the only time they will ever come to the lamest state I the nation.

This is what 32 years of climbing on a once broken ankle look like. The ankle was broken in 1981. The pins (I had other hardware removed in 2000) broke somewhere along the way. In the mean time is decades of bouldering, rock climbing and alpinism all over the world on this mess. My doctor said because of the arthritis and calcium/scar/bone deposits, my ankle looks like that of a 90 year old man in bad shape. I told him he was right about everything except he was off about 32 years! It hurts every God Damn Day!!!!

I do feel for each and every one of you whiners. Especially for Vitaley because all this really should go in his thread. Especially because it's been gorgeous here and I'm feeling very fit and happy, and I've been outside playing all the time, and so many of you are ailing and in pain.

I feel younger and happier with each post.....but Tony, sorry. Yikes! HOWEVER
DUDE, jess look what you accomplished in your life. So I'm sound in body but altogether peakless......lynnie

Edit: Jstan, is the 2210 similar to the "you will be excused from every wrong you ever committed get out of jail free slip"?

If ye're pulling 5.11 you've got no right to whine!

I whine a lot, about my aches and pains; my wobbly and painful knees going back 50 years; not getting to the gym enough; not getting out climbing enough. About still struggling at easy 5.10s
But it's just whining.
I have had a couple of very difficult, even devastating, times but I don't really talk about them.
I know darned well I'm among the lucky (or privileged) ones who don't have really big troubles (yet).
