I'm really tired
I don't know if I have leftovers and don't feel like cooking
Everyone I know is going to the Gunks for the long weekend and I can't do sh#t
It's f*#king freezing here and I don't have a sock for my foot
I don't feel like doing my exercises
My lawn is peppered with trash from all the losers in my neighborhood and I can't rake my own lawn so I have to get someone to do it for me

I'm restless 4 weeks on the couch..

I feel fat after four weeks of nearly no exercise.

I went from overheating and eating out of boredom pot calorie counting and restricting food intake as to not get overly fat. I have only eaten fruit and steamed vegetables for the three days..

I have to meditate everyday sitting in a chair. It's better than nothing but sucks.

I can do yoga but only about 15 or so seated poses and it really does nothing but keep the routine of practicing everyday going..

My neighbor is a D bag and this is really the wrong time of year not to be able to walk as I need to be outside making my presence known when he tries and do sh#t like build stone retaining walls on my property.

My yard needs to be raked, lawn needs to be patched and house painted after the blown in insulation I had done this past December.

The phone is ringing and I need to get it but its on the other side of the house and I'm laying on the floor with my dogs..

I can't drive or walk my dogs, they are going as nuts as me..

Could you have guessed I would respond to this Anita ;)

My feet are always cold, they ache throb and have constant dull burning sensation..

My whine:

I have become ready for a new dog, though I still have one more week at this house sit, and made my first attempt to meet an available pup. This is th ad on Craigslist:
http://hudsonvalley.craigslist.org/pet/4415771001.html

CL does not allow the sale of animals, but does accept posts that include reasonable rehoming fees(as many animal rescue organizations require. The site tells people NOT to list animals" as free because there are evil people out there and charging a fee hopefully will be an obstacle to such people getting the animals.

BUT

Imagine my shock when I spoke with the person about these puppies and she told me they are asking $250 for each puppy. I could SEE saying this to dissuade a bad person, but we had already discussed the home environment this puppy would have and it would have been obvious to most people that I am not some creepy animal abuser.

No offense to those puppies but - does this person REALLY think people will pay $250 for a Wonderhound that hasn't even been to the vet yet?

Happie: CL sucks. I hate looking at the pet ads because there are so many people giving up their pets all the time, or pretending to "give them away" then they get you with a fee...
good luck on your search.

I don't know, I think Anita has stuff that merits some moaning.

I was going to complain that all her friends who are leaving her behind and coming to the Gunks are going to clog up all the climbs, but of course they'll probably only clog up the same set of climbs folks always clog up and leave a whole bunch of routes and even areas pretty much free, and anyway I can climb and Anita can't right now and it was unseasonably hot last week but now it isn't and the snow's all gone and the daffodils, snowdrops and little blue flowers whose latin name I keep forgetting are coming up and according to another thread I'm supposed to be at the cusp of grumpiness but can't seem to manage to summon any irascibility and oh hell I give up. Maybe I'll whine tomorrow.

As for the lady posing for the "attention whore" photo posted (edit: and later deleted) by Burns Brigade, she needs to get her shoulders forward of her hands if she ever wants to hit that handstand.

My mom died of cancer when I was 13.
My grandmother died of cancer when I was in my early 30's.
My auntie died of cancer 2 years ago.
I've had a lump in my breast for 3 years that needs to be checked again.
Someone I love is currently dealing with cancer in his family...and never complains.

Stop whining, go smell the roses, be happy to be alive, be happy to be loved by someone, esp. parents or good friends, and most important, Enjoy Life.

It's okay to whine (and not be ashamed!) as long as you don't allow your troubles to drag you under and you look for, recognize, and appreciate the good when it comes.

One of my favorite quotes is by Helen Keller.

"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow."

Edited to add: Cancer sucks. Lost my mom to it 9 years ago.

Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky
you'll get by.

If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through
For you.

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile-
If you just smile.

That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying.
You'll find that life is still worthwhile-
If you just smile.

This is what 32 years of climbing on a once broken ankle look like. The ankle was broken in 1981. The pins (I had other hardware removed in 2000) broke somewhere along the way. In the mean time is decades of bouldering, rock climbing and alpinism all over the world on this mess. My doctor said because of the arthritis and calcium/scar/bone deposits, my ankle looks like that of a 90 year old man in bad shape. I told him he was right about everything except he was off about 32 years! It hurts every God Damn Day!!!!

If ye're pulling 5.11 you've got no right to whine!

I whine a lot, about my aches and pains; my wobbly and painful knees going back 50 years; not getting to the gym enough; not getting out climbing enough. About still struggling at easy 5.10s
But it's just whining.

All the local dog walking spots around me are riddled with dog sh#t bags just left behind or wung in a tree. Can't even take your f*#king dog for a walk. I feel for those with kids that would like to enjoy these places!

I have even seen the town put signs on storm drains or sewers as to not dump your dog sh#t bags in them as they get clogged and it pollutes the public water supply.

People are f*#king gross!

hey there say, richross... very nice picturesque photo, hope the leaves come soon for a good spring...

will have to backtrack to see all of what is going on here...

say, i never take my dog out for a walk, untill she had 'done her duty' for the ol' doggie system, AT HOME... don't like her messing up folks' yards, etc... then, i keep her on a very short lead, 'til i take her home...

solves the dog-mess problem very well... :)

Quit your whining and complaining. Life is tough. I used to play with Barbie dolls with my next door neighbors, Tracy and Jill, when I was six, and then played GI Joe with the neighborhood brats. Boy, did I get stick from them for playing Ken to Barbie. And you know, Barbie had tits (but nothing below), Ken has… nothing, neither did GI Joe.

I feel cheated. One could at least have hoped that the manufacturers could have put a dick on GI Joe. Ken? Well, he was always leaning the other way.

EDIT

What is the old cartoon.

A boy and a girl are exchanging, make that bragging, about themselves.

Boy: I have muscles.

Girl: So do I.

Boy: But I can grow a beard.

Girl: I couldn't care less.

Boy (exasperated at this point, and pulls down his shorts): I have one of these, you don't.

Girl (pulls down her knickers): Well, with one of these, I can get as many of those as I want.

Moral? if only Ken and Barbie knew.

You got that one all turned around. GI Joe always hung out with other boys, but Ken always scored it with Barbie and/or her friends. If any of them should have one, it was Ken.
GI Joe just never stepped out of the closet. Did you ever see him with a girl?

Lollie, I can't fault your reasoning. Touché for you.

But come on, Ken was effeminate. Gi Joe was macho. Oh wait a minute, I understand.

This morning, while trying to cook for the week so I could eat healthy, I used a newly sharpened knife and darn near chopped the end of my finger off (at least it feels like it). It will probably take at least 2 weeks for the skin to grow back, and might severely impact my ability to crush on my next trip down to climb in socal with phylp. And this will suck as I struggle up the plastic in the gym with my middle finger flying high. If you are in pgsf tomorrow, I am not flipping you off, I am injured.

hey there say, anita514 ... at least the cat part has some comfort to it...

:)

will send another 'cheer up card' soon... hang in there...
pet the cat... it is supposed to be like hugs... good for the spirit :)
i think it also helps the body relax, and thus tension will leave...

tension is part of pain and keeping it or pain in, also makes for depression... next... smile... or try to, about something nice, that you have enjoyed or do enjoy, as to just being you... as-- sometimes the sun may not bright or the day cheery, or the day may be great and YOU are not out there in it... but who you are, can always be there...

keep it special and cherish that... it will keep you on an even keel and if you are a prayer, pray, too, :)

:)

say, daphne, how awful... sorry to hear about that...
my mom warned me about new knives... she once learned the hard way, too... she got some as a gift... she went back to using her own, and always knew how much 'resharp' to add to them, and preferred them a bit duller, as, she had the 'feel' for them, after so many years with 'ol faithfuls' ...

get well soon!!!
