I have a battery bank of three 12v Optimas besides the starter battery.
I can utilize this bank to "jump" the starter battery or directly start the vehicle by flipping a switch. No need for dual starting batteries.

Specifications: 1994 Dodge Caravan. Work done on interior: none. Maintenance done: almost none. Paid $1300 4 years ago, bought it from god-fearing elderly people who kept it in immaculate condition. Ive driven it over mountain passes with chains, crossed foot-deep streams in Utah, it starts every time even in -20 degrees. I love this vehicle and if it ever dies, I will try to find another one exactly like it.
* note, the van is parked in front of my storage locker. I guess I consider this home.
