Cadillac seems to be projecting they are interested only in selling to 1% wannabees. The 1% itself
has little interest in Cadillac. Hell, even I have seen a Rolls parked on the street.

Jim - You could know how you would feel and behave, even without being in the position to hire others.

As for the negotiated merchandise I referred to - it was not I who negotiated the price, but my boss. That negotiation was between our company and an order from the factory, for goods to be sold as stock merchandise(and not intended to a specific account). I have definitely negotiated prices with factories, but of course it was when I had more experience.

In my time in the accessories market, I worked from being a design room assistant, to assistant designer, to designer, to designer/merchandiser. In the later jobs, I would absolutely be in on sales and planning meetings with buyers. But I was "just an employee" to all but one of the dozen or so men I worked for. Now - I have no problem with the "employee" aspect of the equation. It was the "just a" portion of the program. I was actually an exceptional designer who found ways to design truly innovative products in a market that is almost completely driven on copying others. That went well and above what anyone else was capable of doing(or willing to do) at the time. It was a gift I had, and had I been treated decently, I would have continued to offer the gift.

And of course I don't believe all people have the same organizational skills and work ethics.

Offensive? Not at all. You need insensitivity training or something.

Buick, Chrysler, and Cadillac make some awesome rides. The one in the ad is overpriced at 75 grand because it's a newer electric model. The standard Caddies are pretty sweet, and well priced for us middle-class folk.

But I'm a Chevy truck person myself. My buddy drives a Caddie though. Loves it.

I've done the job already, so it is not anything that needs "good luck" if you write that inferring I will have some sort of a problem with being an employee.

Couldn't he have simply been wishing you well? That's how I read it.

Good luck.
