I can't stand Joe Buck but I do like Harold Reynolds. But like so many
ball players and announcers they send me into hysterics when they expose
their ignorance of physics. Harold just noted how the ball 'picked up speed'
when it got by Kershaw. Now I will grant you that the ball could translate
a little rotational energy into velocity but could a human being even see it?
And then there is the endless blather about how 'heavy' the air is when they
are referring to humidity. Will somebody please put a stop to this? MLB
should host an off-season get together and learn these doods up a little.

I somehow can't see Mattingly burning up Kershaw, and I'm guessing he could be done after another inning. Don't want to ruin that arm! If the game remains scoreless, the BPs will take over the game. If Da Boyz in Blue hold on and get back into the series, Kershaw will be needed for the NLDS.

Nice throwing from Miller....until it wasn't. Impressive for a 23 y/o's first post-season starter.

Ha! For the second game in a row the ump is on something.
Actually, I think they all are.

Why the hell didn't Ethier slide? Maybe he didn't take physics in high school either.

This meltdown is entirely on Mattingly--he rode his best horse too hard. Too many pitches...not so much physical fatigue as mental on the 4th time through the order.

Reilly--

Strange you should mention Harry Carey here; he was a High School classmate of my Mother, in Webster Groves, Missouri. Real name: Harry Carrabino.

Not feeling good about this.

Dodger bats just haven't made it happen for a long time.

If the Cards win, I've decided to root for the Royals.

Yeah, the Cards have totally gotten into the Dodgers' heads.
I'm gonna root for the Royals too.

But first it's time for an AJ Ellis jack.
My god, how low was that first strike?
OK, I'll settle for a Justin Turner jack.
Jeezus, that strike was almost in the dirt!
