I met a guy behind the climbing gear counter at Sports Ltd during the ski season, said he was writing a guide book to woodfords when I was asking about the area. Is this the same guy? Is there more than one guidebook? huh?

Natural Ice? Really I cook the pig with that swill.....

Cloudburst canyon will work for the fest. Went up this morning and there is an area I can pull my trailer and supplies to by the lower parking. Its "blocked" off by a few twigs but there is a flat area south of the lower parking that has a couple great areas for me to do the cooking .

So long story short....plan on cloudburst canyon parking area for the fest

Sounds like a fun rally! I'll try to get up there with the wife, some homebrew, etc. Would be cool to climb with some of yall and finally get on some of these stellar cracks that I've been hearing about!

Cheers,

Kinda thinking about taking the 24th off...it's about an 8 hour drive and I'm not keen on doing that Friday night and having to drive back Sunday afternoon. Still haven't heard anything from Jim about his NIAD so it's getting more likely that we will be at Woodfest instead.

Is there any 5.6-5.7 stuff up there?

Vegas,
You You'll find some 5.7-5.8ish stuff out there, but most routes are rated by Chim Chim and are usually 1/2 a grade harder than what "normal" people would rate them (Dan is a really good climber, so 5.7-5.9 comes pretty easy for him!). I've gotten used to an 5.9 being called "A STOUT 5.9". I'm sure there's quite a few routes you'll be happy with...

Glad your having fun Chim and Shasha.....
5.6 -5.7.......There are a few we could direct you to.
Dan? Apron are?. Bandit buttress for sure

We can hook you up with some. Sounds like there will be a lot of ropes up to share.
bolted 5.7 crack on this formation...just need a 70m rope and there is also two 5.8's that are not that bad.

Never once in person have I heard him discuss politics and I stay away from the politard threads, as you all should, so who knows?

Looking forward to meeting y'all!!

Don't mind at all, villains are fine as long as ya don't kill me, it would upset the missus lol.

Looking more likely that we will be there - putting in for the extra day tomorrow. Will give me a chance to show the better half where I used to live in Yerington.

Thanks man. That was my first route I ever put up. I spent so many days hanging and cleaning on that and halcion hallucination I thought I never would get done. Probably could qualify for black lung disease too. Was thinking about heading up Tuesday but weather is looking a little shitty. How's your schedule?
