Yes, yes, Mr Yerian we shall not forget one of the quintessential elements of proverbial climbing.Persona wise, he defined climbing in the time frame that I captured as a climber myself. In no way can I pretend of an ability that approaches Mr. Bachar, yet I feel a verve that must be felt by climbers universally-- Move !!!

Hey John Bachar, remembering you! Thanks for all the help, guidance and opportunity you gave me in trying to create a new life after Dan-o went to heaven. Think yo are both there roaming the planets and climbing stuff that's never been done. Peace and Joy to you John along with Comfort and Love to all your family. lynnie
Also remembering bitdfs (back in the day fun stuff)like making living body pyramide's with the big & little kiddos. Life is to be lived and enjoyed one day at a time. Somehow we did that back then. :D

Johnny (slabbo that is):
I have a similar memory of buying my first pair of Fires of JB in C-4, for cash.
I had quit climbing for many years while I was living in Hawai'i.
Moving to Vegas so an end to that hiatus. A couple years later J.B was in town and did a slide show at the west side climbing gym.
I spoke with him before the show and told'm a few of my memories of interacting with him BITD in c-4 and/or the parking lot and a few times out on the crags.
When I mentioned that I just gotten back into climbing after almost 20 years away... He looked at me with a huge smile and as he gave me a 'bro hug' said "Welcome, welcome back brother!"
The man helped shape mine and many another's whole world, not just our world of rock climbing but what it meant to be a climber, athlete and what the word commitment really meant.
Long Live the JB's legacy!
