if supertopo is ever in need of a patron saint i'd like to suggest neebee.

while i don't know blitzo nor the core group of caregivers, your online and real life community is a powerful testament to the friendships you have collectively shared in.

peace.

Neebee... an extension of who we all wish we were inside, truly.

I'm speechless at the reality of all this ... though not naive ...

Time to pile hair atop my head
upon my pillows
David Sedaris by my side
as I distract myself
from the reality
happening now...

Blessings to Blitzo
as I know
I will wake up breathless
wondering what is.

Chez - right on. That's the stuff.

Great times with Bill, though I came in late. The man has a keen eye for the aesthetic, a simple appreciation of the real pleasures of life and the joyous energy of a climbing lifer.

Thanks for being such a huge part of who I am now, Bill. It all started here - with you.

Neebees love quilt as we call is has been in use since arrival. Yesterday as my cape, last night for warmth for both me, then locker and again tonight snuggled up under it. Looking down I keep seeing new details to admire.

Blitzo has been comfortable and knew he'd happily share. Thanks everyone, in particular Neebs, we just love it so.

hey there say, sooze... i managed to fit those lovely old fashioned LARGE squares in, with my squares, those were from just-the-maid (from her gramma)...

i got all the names in that were posted, here, UP until the time i had to sew it together and to send it... just barely got leggs's name, in, on the other side and TWO others... though they are just inked in, was happy to get a few more there! ... (started the list at the first post and went on through and tried very hard to not accidentally miss a poster) :O

Locker!!!!! Just saying "hi" and I'm thinking about you all. Blitzo... I am hoping that any discomfort is surpassed by being surrounded by the love.

From outside the close circle but as one who in the role of nurse has seen a lot of people pass on, a collective feeling in our nursing culture is that people about to die often hold on until family members come to visit so that the dying person can know that their kids are okay. Just one thought on how having his friends near may be helping to keep Blitzo at peace. What a great family he has.

Yup it's true, it's some tribe down here! Big Al Bartlett stopped by today as well as Todd Gordon first thing this morning. Kate & Sonya are down for support, plus lots if chair time with blueblocker. Limited drama, mostly me encouraging Locker & Russ to keep the volume down. I claim such for Blitzo's peace but perhaps my own?

It's a quiet morning, thumbing through the new So Cal Slater guidebook which arrived.

Blitzo had a fever again which he did yesterday too. Some ice bags & Tylenol seem to cure that in short time. Great staff, keeps him comfortable, bathed, in fresh linens... Terrific care!

Also, huge thanks to longtime friend Stephanie for coming by the other day. She's an RN and came during the moment of transition. Her love, coupled with training put us as ease (okay not ease we were panicked) when our friend made the next turn down his path. Thanks Stephanie, watching you helped us all. We are doing what you showed us, he is peaceful and taking his time....just as if he was working! The man runs his own schedule, always has....always will.

I'd just like to repeat what Susan said about Stephanie. It was very hard for me to get up the strength to go visit the other day - I don't handle those situations very well. The feeling of calmness that Stephanie created in the room went a long way toward helping me to keep it together as well as I did. She was truly a great comfort for everyone.

Kinda interesting - The women there at the time seemed much stronger than Locker and I, who at times were blubbering away like babies. You never know how people are going to deal with these things until the time comes.

I'll be going again in a little while.

taking his time....just as if he was working!

Man, I really needed a laugh and that did the trick. His other nickname ain't The Mannequin for nothing.

"Hey Sally, how long you been trimming that oleander?"

All you dudes with those D-5 open source hammers? He rigged
those leashes onto them. Dave and I were sitting around the shop, BSing with him while he was tying them. It was comical and maddening all at the same time. Molasses flows faster, but the longer it took him, the more stories we got.

Hah! I still remember that day and chuckle about it.

Thank you to all who have been in to see the Blute. Pretty bummed I can't get down there right now.
