Thanks Roots and neebee! Good to see your looking out!

Hi Kris! Tell Uncle Ben i'll have one but no more as they mess with my pain meds and dilute them! No fun!

Yowza Bruce! I like kittens!! ;)

Well another day on the gf spine ward. My day started off with my nurse waking me 15 mins early. I wasn't super pleased about it, but i asked her nicely if she could please refrain from doing so in the future..

I started doing a bit of exercise for my morning commute..

I made it to pt early which is rare. Strengthening went well and i bumped up the weight a bit for my leg exercises. I had pt directly after that, and we did some more driving stuff.

Then we focused on my shoulder a bit to help out an old separation i had which is nice, and then off to the bars for some balancing. I was on one of those soft half balls, but upside down, and it was not too hard.

The she says "try it with your eyes closed! " That was hard. I managed to stay upright, but not too much else. We did some more foot routines for my clutch foot, then calf raises followed by some tippy toes walking.

I thought i had a appointment with my pharmacist, but it turned out i was mistaken so i just taco'ed a bit till lunch. Lunch has been quite fun lately, joking around with the usual characters, and some of the nurses.

I went back to my room and started to put up some of my pictures and stuff. It's still pretty disorganized tho, and i kinda like it that way, because it feels like my room growing up.

I got tired of standing after fourty five minutes, so i hit the sack for a bit and chilled. Then i headed off to OT where i had a medical student ask me if he could sit in on our session. I said yes so he started to grill me a bit. After a few questions i turned the table on him. Turns out he helped startup a energy solutions company that installs a lot of solar panels on houses and buildings in california.

Then Nigel showed up and we started off with some barefoot standing and stepping, followed by some short walking without the crutches.

We also did some more hip strengthening stuff and i tried catching and kicking the ball again. After a bit he told me to kick the ball with my eyes closed. I actually did better at that than with visual clues! ;)

We finished up the session with a walk, and a short stint outside in the pouring rain to see how i would fair on the wet grass. It was fine. At the end of the walk, i went back up the stairs that i started my day by going down.

The rest of my day was pretty mellow. Some taco'ing and a bit more room arranging..

Tomorrow is another day and then I get to go home again!! Thanks to Luke and Ais coming to pick me up!!

Whoa man, I can't believe you are doing stairs Mike! That is amazing. The picture of the stairwell kinda made my arse pucker. That's where I screwed up my knee on Monday, at work walking down the stairs. I have a partial tear of my MCL.

Sooooo, ya. I'm stuck at home unable to walk while you are ripping up the carpet over there. Pretty funny ehhhhhh?!

I missed a couple of decent pictures when i got behind last week.

Jim Brennan was kind enough to stop by and he, Sandra and i went for a walk..

The next day Sandra snuck me out of the hospital to buy some pants at mec.

Me making my first wheelchair purchase

It was a pretty sweet day and this view from the flagship mec rooftop parking lot.

But...happy that Mike's camera happy :)
And also glad he's home for the weekend again...albeit the snoring issue has returned.

Off to the pool again tonight with Mike. :)

Thanks Paul! I guess i've been letting people get to know me via this thread. I've had nothing but positive results so far so i'm pretty stoked! I'm in room 248 now, but stuff addressed to my old room will still find me so no worries.

Thanks Captain! Wishing you the best dude!

Cool pic Relic!! Sweet Problem! I hope your knee gets dealt with the right way. That sucks.

Don't be such a self hater babe. Looking forward to the pool tonight!

So i had a purdy good weekend. After a very nice ride home from Luke and Ais friday night, i crashed out hard. I didn't get to the pool unfortunately because Sandra developed some horrible back spasm's at work on saturday. Sunday I went out to wildwood with Kyle and Heather and ordered the three benny. I love their benny's! It was a real treat to get back there again.

Amazing Bennys!

Sandra was kind enough to give me a ride back to GF sunday night and we stopped at Essence of India in Squish on the way. They had just finished a remodel and the place looked amazing.

Monday morning i woke up really stuffed up. I was sniffy all weekend but i was hoping that it was just allergies. I did ok in pt though, and got into the weight gym with my pt to figure out some exercises for my shoulder. Then I went back to my room, and ran into the doctor in the hallway. We discussed my condition for a bit and she told me to keep an eye on it and let them know if it got any worse.

I had pool at 1 and that went pretty well. We did some nice stretching and walking, forwards, backwards, sideways.
Then finished it off with some kick board.

After some rest, i went down to ot, where i found out that Nigel had double booked me. I was kinda tired anyways so i let him see his other client, and i went and dealt with some paperwork i've been needing to do for awhile.

I went to dinner at five, and after that, i crashed hard. I woke up once for my meds, and then got up for a bit at 11 and couldn't get back sleep till 2.

Yesterday i woke up not feeling so hot. It was definitely a head cold. I went to pt, and put in my best, but the energy just wasn't there. At ten, i was supposed to have another hour and my pt said "you're done. Go sleep."

I obliged happily and spent most of my day in bed. I was pretty choked because a nurse had brought this cold in on friday, and one of the other nurses warned me about her. I did my best to stay away from her, but i'm pretty sure that's where i got it from. I haven't been around anyone else who's been sick.

I got out of bed for dinner, but sat well away from everyone. I dumped my plate of hospital food and ate my currie leftovers instead which was way better!

After dinner i snoozed a bit till Anders showed up and brought me some tea and a nasal rinse setup at Sandra's request.

We had a nice visit and as always a quality chat. He had another engagement to attend, so i bid him adieu, and thanked him for his kindness.

I'm really concentrating on trying to get rid of this thing, so i can continue kicking ass at rehab.
