hey there say, big mike...

as to this:

Neebs, you have already done so much for me. Thank you. Don't feel as if you need to do more. Your card was amazing and I'm really hoping your gift is what I think it is, and will allow me to sleep and explore the dream realm more. Once again. Thank you!!!

yep, it is... :)

sorry it takes so long to get there... my friend in boston should get it any day now, and she will mail it...

it is too hard for me to get the post now, as i said:
before, i could mail to canada and over seas, from the grocery outlet...

too bad, it changed. :(
:) but i find ways to do it, :))

Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!! Cookies!!!

Dude! Too funny! After I busted my leg, I was sitting on a bear box in Curry just kind of hanging out. I was starving and someone had some cookies, and I gobbled down three. She looked at me and said, "Didn't you hear what I said about those cookies?"

Uh-oh.

Well, I think they had given my some Vicodin for my leg, and except for booze and ibuprofen, I don't use any drugs. So needless to say, the combination hit me like a ton of bricks. I had the spins so bad I had to sit on the can inside from the Pizza Deck for fear I was going to puke from seasickness! The other thing I remember was the vicodin seemed to make the entire world turn orange.

That was not a pleasant evening. Sheesh.

Mike I've been following your close call and recovery on this thread and wanted to just say it warms my heart to see friends and strangers alike rally around you. Although we only met briefly at the Squamish Mountain Festival and at the Bluffs I feel I know you much more - thanks to your great live TRs and posts. You have put out a lot of good karma and now its coming back round - so great to see. I added some Tshirts to the Fundraiser and Auction for Big Mike thread.

So hang in there dude and when you reach the top keep climbing ...and posting.

PS: Id like to drop by for a visit and maybe have some cookies. When are the best visiting hours for you?

Harry, there is a new Indian place near me on Broadway just west of Main called the Dhaba. That is where I get the naan wraps.

It looks good Naitch. Caught edges will happen. Try not to cross up sports if you are really looking for progression. I know you don't have a lot of time to make that happen but progression comes with repetition. Something I'm sure you are familiar with from climbing.

cross up sports? who me? you mean like.....

xc-tour, skate ski, telemark, randonee AND snowboarding all in one season? who me? naw... never....

realize though I started skateboarding 30 years ago, started surfing 25 years ago, and started snowboarding 20 years ago. so it's less about improving at this point and more about waiting for powder days so I can go get my steep and deep on.

skiing on the other hand has always been a challenge for me. the xc-touring at the nordic track is helping. I took one run on the telemark gear and realized the conditions sucked (the cords were frozen which really wasn't helping). I need a couple inches of fluffy stuff before I try again.

I love snowboarding so it's hard not to want to ride as often as I can (especially because my board is new). But I'm going to learn to be a better skier.

Thanks Dave. Sorry I haven't had more time for www.squamishclimbing.com, I get so caught up over here.... Visiting Hours are typically 4-8pm during the weekdays but weekends are free. I'm staying put, some come visit me while I finally get a chance to get into all the awesome reading I've been bestowed/lent.

Just got back from a great pt session, we did lots of standing. That seemed to be the focus of the day. This morning in ot it was the same. Using my legs and abs to hold me up rather than my hands.

I did pretty good but keeping my balance was tough becuase my left leg is still numb. I did start to get it figured out by the end of the day but I also got quite tired very quickly. I am still amazed at how exhausted I get over simple movements, compared to climbing or snowboarding it feels like nothing, but yet there I am pooped after simply standing for five or ten minutes or doing some easy range of movement exercises...

My physio says its because I am working twice as hard since the muscle isn't as strong because only half the neurons are firing, so the muscle just can't generate the power that it used to before.

Relic popped by to bring me a sick lunch and help me with my homework.

Which toe is this??

I had a couple minutes before my physio so I popped out to the sunny courtyard

I received a letter from Ekat today! Thanks Ekat!

In also not sure if I mentioned Mh2 brought me some prints for my wall!! Thanks Mh2!! Ill take some pics of my room tomorrow.

Oh ya, my physio said she can pretty much guarantee I will be walking out of here! No timeline but I'm thinking at least 8 weeks. She said I might be able to be back in full health within a year from now.
