BTW, I like Costa Mesa too. Grew up there. Folks still have their house there. I'd say it's nice in spite of the Republicans.

There are amazingly beautiful open spaces close to LA. Unfortunately, the culture down here is rife with callous disregard for it all. The amount of trash, graffiti and broken glass is appalling. The cultural difference between SoCal and NorCal is evident. One caveat is a mile or two from the trailhead, the impact is greatly reduced.

Nutjob.. one nice south pas benefit.. if you a road bike rider, you are close to the Rose Bowl and the hills above. Good riding in them parts..

Post knee surgery I am a great big fat fvck at present, but I plan to get a bunch of road riding done this season (ditto mtn biking....
