Oh, I am in tears. Had been wondering how Cush has been faring.

A few days after Teddy passed, I woke up in the middle of the night feeling his presence. It seemed he told me "Next time, I'm going to be a BIG dog!" I brushed away a tear and thought "How come?" and he replied in a very happy voice "It just seems like big dogs have a lot of fun!" I still smile at recalling that moment, and have to say that Teddy definitely had a thing for Yellow Labs. He adored them, over any and every other breed, for some reason, and at that time I was sure he had the idea of being a Yellow Lab in mind.

I know that if Teddy can meet Cush at the rainbow bridge, he will be as happy to see him as can be. God bless you, Cush, and my heartfelt condolence to your human family as this time.

New thing to add to my "least favorite things to do" list....digging my dog's grave. (in the shadowed foreground)

At least the day, and the location on our property, are spectacular.

We've got him lying out on the deck, enjoying the view. : )

Crag. . . my dad was a fighter pilot in WWII and Korea and he says THEE single hardest thing he ever did was taking our family dog to the to help him cross the Rainbow Bridge.

:-(

When you have the time, would you please post up some shots of Cush going fwimmy in the FloatCoat that Skadi sent to him - from heaven?

I tried to find them, here, and they're gone.

This thread just tears at my heart.

Anyone who knows me in the default world (sadly, not many of you) knows that my dogs, and more so, Lincoln, are my life. Link has been everywhere with me, he's a road trip dog.

As I watch Link go gray and slow down, it reinforces the fact that he's not always going to be by my side. He's only nine, but watching him age saddens me. He is one of my sources of power, truly my best friend.

Contemplating life without him is a very, very difficult thing.

I'm sending a boatload of positive thought to you Dean, on this sad day.

OhBoy. . . that opened the flood gates, Crag!

I'm SOOOOOOO glad I was receptive to Skadi's message, from heaven, to send her FloatCoat to Cush. . . both of their souls will forever live in the waters of the Eastside of the Range of Light!

THANK YOU FOR POSTIN' UP THOSE PHOTOS!

OXOXOXOXO

P.S. I saved those shots to my SkadiFloatCoat file!

DR, Holding my Heidi in my arms while the vet gave her cancer-ridden body that overdose, that was one of the hardest things I've ever done. I'll never forget it.
Prayers for you today. Michael and I are both in tears for your family.

Thanks all....we have him relaxing out on the lawn, watching the birds, the leaves fall, and feeling the cool air and warm sun.

Vet coming at 3 now instead of 4.

Enjoying EACH minute.

When I did the same Our dog licked the tears from my face as the last thing she ever did..

Even when I heard of my Mothers passing I did not bawl my eyes out as much as I did then.

My mom would understand that too.

The vet scene in "Marlee and Me" was all too accurate. Only somebody who had been in those shoes could have captured the emotions so well. And hard to watch without being sad over my own experiences with our dogs.

We'll be thinking of Cush at 3:00.
