I think it is important to look at the Strategy that this Food Stamps issue affords us:
The current system is part of a "block grant" system that was created some time ago. The allegation is that there were insufficient controls (ironically, not enough "Big Gov't telling them what to do). So now, the proposal is to through EVERYTHING out, the good with the bad.
Guess what, they want to put Medicaid on a "block grant" basis. Guess what the end game is?
This appears to be one of the new approaches that the GOP is using to dismantle the safety net.
