That was Jeremy down there in Al-baquirky, living the dream. He was part of the Taco tribe. He gave a little bit of himself, freely, with every trip report. Lots of us took real pleasure in reading those trip reports, some of the very best because of his attitude.
Sorry he left.
DMT Amen.
GREAT photo, Reeotch... thanks for sharing... I miss that FACE!
Jeremy, I typed it out earlier, but I'll type it again... Cannot wait for your site. You are quality!

After re-reading the drama thread (zzzz), Jeremy DOES seem like a nice guy. He PROBABLY shouldn't be on the internet, though. It's like my dad, I love him, but he isn't allowed to have a facebook account just like I'm not allowed in a pie shop.
Message boards are an amalgamation of a hundred other forms of communication and language - intent, sarcasm, wordplay, inside jokes, differeing senses of humor, the average 6th grade intelligence rock climbers have.... we are just BOUND to cross some lines. If you are a person that when you have your line crossed you get this upset... internet may not be a good hobby, and I mean that honestly, with all the love in the world. Sometimes I have to peel myself off too.
When I see Burchey I see a charater, like from a Rodney Dangerfield movie. I don't think one of his posts have elicited any reaction beyond a chuckle. With Wes, its almost like he is poking people to see how they reach. Imagine your best friend saying it, and its kind of funny.
I may be one of the youngest people here but I would toss my name in the hat of 'spent the most time in the community talking online.' I started in middle school with AIM, typing 6 windows at at time, then myspace, MMORPG's, and finally message boards... I feel like I know how to communicate my thoughts, yet about half get misinterpreted.
There is no fix, Jeremy should go climbing. Just like there is no fix for kids shooting up our schools. It WON'T change, it WON'T go away, so just live with our inconsistencies. Charlton isn't leaving his rifle from his cold dead fingers, and Jeremy will always think that the opinions of as#@&%es matter. Can't help that. Lets move on, k?

Plenty of good reasons for leaving the Taco:
Climbing posts don't interest most viewers on a so called "climbing forum."
Political/ religious rants dominate and are nauseating.
You want to kick the habit.
but
leaving because you think you are getting bullied isn't one of them.

it's funny how everything gets spun to having some kind of negative connotation... this is just my opinion, DMT. zoom out, look with big perspective, does it matter that jeremy is on ST...? No. It really doesn't. His life is a lot, lot, LOT bigger than that. not me, it's all I got going for me, lol. But he doesn't need it - it will only put him in front of people who he will feel are being dickheads. In reality, they probably aren't huge dickheads but just people, too - but that communication gets lost. The language doesn't work. So, its best if these two don't see eachother.
I know. Kind of an anti-hippy philosophy, that you should just separate people who don't like each other. But I know that this bullshit doesn't mean anything, and rock climbing/friends/family do.
So that's what I mean. If you'd like to interpret my words to fit your description of me, that is fine. I'm a nice guy, I don't have any ill will to anyone here. Hope the best for you.

I changed my post because really, I don't care who wants me here or not. I don't know what's going on in Jeremys head, either. I read Burcheys thread, all of it (ugh), and I heard the way he reacted here. I have an idea that he left because he felt people were bullying him. I think that is a good idea.
I don't know why you've always been so eager to jump on me, you seem like a nice enough person, but if you have a negative version of a person you see maybe everything they say gets taken negatively.

Jeremy's TR's were top notch, among my favorites. I don't climb mud but if one of his TR's was on the first page, I wanted to hear about it before anything else.
This seems more like Jeremy lost an unfortunate war of attrition, rather than being pissed at one individual. Dude could give it out and not cry when I dissed his mom in return.

attrition warfare is a military strategy in which a belligerent side attempts to win a war by wearing down its enemy to the point of collapse through continuous losses in personnel and materiel.
