I've been looking forward to this for a long time and now I have to bow out. I'm totally slammed with the deadline for my December issue, and will be working most of the weekend -- including evenings.
Sucks.
And the rest of us six who you hoped would join you to make seven are probably all out as well. Mari has an old friend in town and will be hanging with her on Friday. I can't speak for the others for sure, but I know Wayne & Masha work nights Wednesday-through-Sunday, so I'd be surprised if they can make it, and I think Steve said he and Mimi could only get out on Saturday.
If you have some time on Saturday evening, we might be able to bring you to something -- email me.

As an addendum to the above post:
If anyone in the Seattle area can get out for a couple of hours on Friday evening and join Nature at Mashiko, you're in for a treat and should let him know right away.
He's good company, and the food will be beyond incredible.

no worries steve... if they we not closed for a party we'd do it tomorrow.
Unagi is no longer served at my sushi bar. It's on the not-sustainable list. Hajime doesn't offer it either.

You could come by Angelo's and watch me get busy. We are having cioppino for a special tonight. I know, it is cooked, but you won't be alone. The beverages are on me.

MMMMMMMMMMMMM, cioppino!
I find it hard to believe that fresh water eels are not sustainable. They are a problem exotic in Florida.
Nature, give me a call. I have a few items that might interest you in particular.

Anago is better anyway. And as far as Unagi not being sustainable goes put a worm and sinker on and cast it into the Delaware River. Unagi every time.

The unagi that is supplied to sushi restaurants is not sustainable.
That it can be is a moot point until the industry changes their sourcing methods.
I won't support that aspect of the industry.
And though I agree about Anago the evidence is unclear as to the impact on the environment as well as sustainability of the fishery.
