Our local "hill" got a needed 10-12" dump of fluffy white stuff today--pulled my son out of school and skied untracked goodness all day :-)

Aaahhhhhh . . .

Snowing since yesterday here, just off the Divide. The pass over the Divide is open, thanks to the snow plows. Our private roads out here are plowed once, but building up snow again. Down in the Winds, they had to get a Cat to plow out the ranch road, but that is pretty standard.

Here at home in Montana, I've shoveled twice today, and the car is still tracking out to the road, but the drifts are drifting deeper, and the night is getting darker, and the wind is getting brisker, and the temperatures are dropping further, so I think I'll build up the fire and stay snugged inside tonight.

I'm lovin' all the snow.

Cool. Gives me a real thrill. Pretty much quit skiing after 47 years 10 years ago. Knew it was over when I was thinking about rock climbing while riding the chairlift. But still have great memories and still get out now and then.

The photo is inspiring. Thinking I will make a point this year of getting up to Tuckermans with my daughter or hopefully, if they get any snow, out to Heavenly to ski with my brother and sister.

hey there say, susan... wow and oh my...

and say: the chief... WOW, too... that whole range looks very nice, clad in the newness of white, thus far...

thank you for sharing...

wow, now, say, also:
hope ours comes LATE and not too much, as, the last two years were
pretty strong stuff...
well, actually, the first of the two, was...
last year, was FAR colder, but a bit less of the snow...

but wow, that year before, oh my... piled it six feet high, day in and out, for to keep my drive clear for the car, and about six feet wide as well...

'til i started knocking it down to five feet, :))

well, i know there are many ski'ers and that the sierra needs the snowfall, so happy new snow season to you all...

I only know the ekat from her posts, but it got me thinking about skeezin with ekat for a day. Maybe pick a day, sometime mid-winter. Wherever you are on this white and blue marble, get out there, and know that you are making turns with the ekat.

Skeezin' with ekat day?

There's been some light snowfall in Rocky Mtn National Park already. So, I just broke down and bought a splitboard. No way am I getting trapped at low elevation for another winter.
