Thanks, Frank. . . the old dad who built this estate put that garden together for his wife. . . it's really nice. Excavated, lined with this radical highway building fabric, beds built, filled up with great soil and surrounded with gravel. . . pretty much vermin-proof. . . and the wolf, fox, deer, elk, bear, moose and other beast-proof fence really works, even though it's dog ugly, that's for sure!

:-)

I've been wanting to build some cold frames on a couple of the beds. . . I've got some new, never used, skylights. . . but. . . seasons come and seasons go. . . and it never seems to get done.

LAZY WOMAN!

Shortest shoulder season ever? Try no shoulder....what happened? Instead of "Early Winters" call it "Nofall"

Why fight it. Thanksgiving reservations for Silverstar!!

No shoulder season here, at all. . . went from the high 80s and low 90s to socked in like Juneau. . . I can stand out by my shop, looking toward the Whitefish Range (NorthernRockies) and convince myself that I'm on the Lynn Canal!

TRIPPY!

POOP . . . ya can't go skeezin on rain. . . but, then again, you don't have to fire up the blower, either!

Time to sharpen the edges? Silverton Mountain reported as much as 2 to 3 feet of fresh snow from the weekend storm. Silverton Mountain ski patroller Marc Kloster takes a run Monday after several patrollers jumped on the chairlift and made their first turns of the 2013-14 season. The area is scheduled to open Dec. 21, but that date could be moved up if conditions allow, area spokeswoman Jen Brill said in an email.
