Took a little trip to the fifth floor, visited with John Decker following a siesta. He gave me a glass of Bridalveil Creek water and we smoked out, too.
He'd just been to the Valley on Monday...glorious skies, no snow, and the fog stopped right at the base of the Guadalupe Grade, as usual. He was on the bus. Coming home the sea of fog was swirling around into the foothills and Mariposa was souped in, pretty much like here.
We got to talking of feathers, of which he has a small collection garnered from his pow-wow visits...he's in a color-guard unit and goes to lots of them around the state.
Here are a couple he especially likes.
Then the topic changed slightly when John brought out a calendar from last year showing folks strutting their stuff in their regalia.He is actually holding a pipe, I think, but we were having a safety meeting, I'm sure of it.
I volunteered to take his garbage downstairs for him, since I had shown up with a bag of my own. Then I went to the Art Gallery, Multicultural, Merced County...to visit a display not about Indian Wars or the Cold War, but about the Great War. And the Paper War.
edit: Just a thought, but I wonder how many of those beater cars from Cuba would $4,000 buy? Not the cherry ones, but the ones that really need work.

playing gingerly, my tripping the light fandango here is frought with interactions with climbers who have driven heros I knew(not close but well) to, when mixed and tossed with the vinegrett
of life, to take that step that no one has come back from.. .. Ca;lling Harry Whodonit not,
When we were young mainly the disenfranchised climbed, no clicks of socially exceptable gym bred wheezy toasts, who clearly do not toast.And are not 'Experianced' !

The experiment would open climbs of all kinds, especially at the top end. This could be tried at a controled site, over at L.A.'s backyard, Mnt. Woodson,for example, then you would have to judge over time, to see if the place is over run with climber protection or not.
i know it is not that simple, at every climbing area, people have climbed stuff that was never recorded. At Mnt woodson that is a certainty. Zion, Rocky Mnt, not yet to mention known to very few great cliffs and Ridges an' such, all and every where even in the bad country joo joo lands around Owens and the Volcanic tuuf at the places it is found. TOO.
