Mairzy Doats

I know a ditty, nutty as a fruitcake
Goofy as a goon and silly as a loon
Some call it pretty, others call it crazy
But they all sing this tune:

Mairzy doats And dozy doats
And liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

Yes! Mairzy doats And Dozy Doats
And liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

If the words sound queer and funny to your ear,
A little bit jumbled and jivey,
Sing "Mares eat oats and does eat oats
And little lambs eat ivy"

Oh! mairzy doats and dozy doats
And liddle lamzy divey
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you - oo?
A kiddley divey too, wouldn't you?

it's no harder speaking that-a-way than it is to speak (rite, i mean, write?) in norwegian, bud

foreign example
these threads he concepts
in his isolatry

woden's shoe is birdseye wood
his mares eat oaks
his liddel lambs get scarified in trench-mouth warfare
oh what big sot teeth they have
allies all look the same in their twelve-ounce cans
dead boulderers lying there
in talus requiescat in pace
painted rum red, bone white and ameriblue
kill u some ivy, too
but spare the lambs, see?

My father, Boomer, used to love to sing Mairzy Doats when we drove long distances. We could never match him. The words were...weird.
and
his main song, and one on which Mom joined in to sing,
and we kids (once we began thinking that we understood "syncopatience"--took a little while,
lots of trips up and back from Sac to Redding visiting folks0, was this little ditty.[Click to View YouTube Video]

Sue (Or In a Season of Crime)
by David Bowie

Sue
I've got the job
We'll buy the house
You'll need to rest
But now we'll make it

Sue
The clinic called
The x-ray's fine
I brought you home
I just said home(?)

Sue you said you want it written
Sue, the virgin on your stone
For your grave

Why too dark to speak the words
For I know that you have a son
Oh, folly, Sue

Ride the train, I'm far from home
In a season of crime none need atone
I've kissed your face

Sue, I've pushed you down beneath the weeds(?)
Endless fate in hopeless deeds
I kissed your face
I touched your face

Sue, goodbye

Sue, I found your note
That you wrote last night
It can't be right
You went with him
Sue, I never dreamed
I'm such a fool
Right from the start
You went with that clown

Ay! que bonito es volar,
a las 2 de la mañana,
a las 2 de la mañana,
Ay! que bonito es volar, ay mamá!.
Volar y dejarse caer,
en los brazos de una dama
ay! que bonito es volar,
a las 2 de la mañana, ay mamá!
Me agarra la bruja
me lleva a su casa,
me vuelve maceta
y una calabaza.
Me agarra la bruja
me lleva al cerrito,
me vuelve maceta
y un calabazito.
Ay! dígame, dígame,
dígame usted,
¿cuántas criaturitas
Se ha chupado usted?
Ninguna, ninguna,
ninguna no sé,
ando en pretenciones
de chuparme a usted.
Repite Ay! me espantó una mujer,
¿a dónde?
ninguna, ninguna
ninguna no sé,
ando en pretenciones
de chuparme a usted.
A la bruja me encontre
en el aire iba volando
en el aire iba volando
a la bruja me encontre, ay mamá!
Entonces le pregunté:
que ¿a quién andaba buscando?
me dijo ¿Quién es usted?
soy cantador de huapango, ay mamá!
Escóndete Chepa,
escóndete Juana,
que ahí anda la bruja
debajo de la cama.
Escóndete Chepa
escóndete Joba,
que ahí anada la bruja
volando en su escoba.
Ay! dígame, dígame
dígame usted
¿Cuántas criaturitas
se ha chupado usted?
ninguna, ninguna
ninguna no sé,
ando en pretenciones
de chuparme a usted.

Burglary in Florida
(Courtesy of Johnny Feaver.)

Sometimes things that really happen are funnier than stuff made up:

When southern Florida resident Nathan Radlich's house was burglarized recently, thieves ignored his wide screen plasma TV, his VCR, and even left his Rolex watch.

What they did take, however, was a white box filled with a grayish-white powder. (That's the way the police report described it.)

A spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale police said that it looked similar to high grade cocaine and they'd probably thought they'd hit the big time.

Later, Nathan stood in front of numerous TV cameras and pleaded with the burglars: "Please return the cremated remains of my sister, Gertrude. She died three years ago."

The next morning, the bullet-riddled corpse of a local drug dealer known as Hoochie Pevens was found on Nathan's doorstep. The white box was there too; about half of Gertrude's ashes remained.

Scotch taped to the box was this note which said: "Hoochie sold us the bogus blow, so we wasted Hoochie. Sorry we snorted your sister. No hard feelings. Have a nice day."

And you thought California was the land of fruits and nuts?

[FYI fun fact: CA has more zombies, per capita, than FL according to the last census.]

Not a poet, not norwegian.

Mikhail Lomonosov, Born-dated today in 1711. Wrote Epistle on the Usefulness of Glass--it helps beer to taste better and photographs could not be made without it, all I really wanna know about glass.
He may have looked something like this, according to Moswood, the official Russian state music organ.[Click to View YouTube Video]

Billy Sunday, the baseball player (no glove era) and popular preacher. He was a big hit when people flocked to hear him lay down the word, especially on the gentle art of bunting, a burning topic among fans.
Converted to evangelical Christianity in the 1880s, Sunday left baseball for the Christian ministry. He gradually developed his skills as a pulpit evangelist in the Midwest and then, during the early 20th century, he became the nation's most famous evangelist with his colloquial sermons and frenetic delivery.

Sunday held widely reported campaigns in America's largest cities, and he attracted the largest crowds of any evangelist before the advent of electronic sound systems.

He also made a great deal of money and was welcomed into the homes of the wealthy and influential. Sunday was a strong supporter of Prohibition, and his preaching likely played a significant role in the adoption of the Eighteenth Amendment in 1919.

Despite questions about his income, no scandal ever touched Sunday.

As long as you swing when you get to the party, and don't hit too many party-foul balls, and your own booze, you are coolio.

Haven't you any of Tami's "new black" outfits?

i missed the meeting.
i purposely chose an axe for
a pillow last night
and i was sleeping in the shed
beside a rowdy blaze
and i hoped the rusty
blade would cut through
the subconscious funk
in which im sunk
but instead i awoke
to my wife yelling at me,
but really it was just
a dream,
and as i came to
an adolescent owl
issued a creaky hoot
and midnight was borne
so i pushed out the iron hour
engineering, turned
in my design
and at 6 bought my first wreck
and watched the sun rise over the lake
as a storm hatched on the sierras.

I'm talking tap only the finest home brew!!! That micro brewery is the brewery that I want to visit!!!
along those lines I have fo7 my once in a Blue Moon constant
For a localn 8% alcohol Double iPA. Not a light beer but I don't drhink Drink
whiskey more but still less. Beer I get the when the sale means it may skunked
I Ho to admit this will send the weege for his axe. Like calling Thunderbird, wine
I add fresh lime to ice cold skunked beer. When I say ice cold there is, frost, the start of freezing
inside the bottle. If you wait too long, 3 seconds, to pour at least as many ounces, or else it turns to slush. Snow flanked mountain stream cold.

Let me start with the bottle cap. Two hands with index fingers pointing cross at the wrists.
Along the front arm with the A at the elbow is the word "roads"
Above the elbow of the arm that cross behind is the word "Two"
The words "Brewing Company" Bracket the Graphics.

On the neck strap the words "Temptingly Hoppy"in a flowing script
Runs over the words "Double IPA" in bold font and the IPA is extra heavy.
The words "Plenty of bite" run vertically and frame a golden smirking snake coiled head and tail raised with a hops bud held by the tail and the tongue of the viper aimed at the bud.

The body of the bottle is what I would call a shortie. Not a long neck, brown bottles a squat rack that stays stable on the floor of the truck. The grasp is wide, good feeling, a wide grip.
On the back of the bottle is an ominous hook with two thick cables disappearing into the housing.a 1940s Crane hook with the #2 filling the casing. The Label on the front of the bottle
is a graphic that is chock full of fun. "The road Less Traveled" the same pointing hands from the cap and Road 2 Ruin Double IPA and Temptingly Hoppy Ale repeat and are surrounded by signing hands the universal OKay rounded thumb meeting index finger.on the upper left on the right is the 'Hawaii" thumb over two middle fingers, pinky and index attended. The hand signs at the bottom are thubs up and peace. On the side with no bar code is the cartoon drawing of a naked couple holding hands her breasts covered and both wear Hops buds for modesty.
I like the redundant warning and the 8 % alcohol /volume.

This is a very very good beer but for warned it is a party and that is as good as it is bad.
as good as it gets from a bottle as good and that only Happens once in a Belgian White
BLUE MOON
cheers mate cheers mate it is worth thanking twice !!

The Roadless Traveled Better

The pioneers, not the sons
The ones with the axes, not the McCollughs, Parner
They are the ones
Stumpy little stumpf*#kers, shorter than their sprigs
Groan older morning after morning
Slavin' away at chokers
At Cat treads and cursin' the person
Who almost got him with his backswing
And wishin' he we drinkin'
Really cold ones down at the Crossroads
So cold in the bottles
That the words printed on the label
Fell off the table
And into his lap
And here comes Junior
Telling him ma's waiting dinner
And about the new chain he just found a-lyin' there
But you know he stole the thing
But you know you don't care
You leaned the axe by the chair
Now where's it gone
The boy's got it
It's sheath leather from the bull you slaughtered
And with your monogram on the thing
Pay up, Sal Two bits
And yer off to the rodeo
Gonna give that old lady a ride
Then go do it all again till you die

Verses vs. the Universe, with the Universe as our special guest, reading from its latest bloopers list. Bring your own booze and bring your own Clif Bars or whatever to the Camp 4 lot. The date will be posted earlier this next time.
