The finger of fate, my friends, is fickle.
Oct 20, 2014 - 01:38am PT
As I expressed today in another thread, now expunged after a life of only four or five hours, my creative juices have flowed as a result of being on supertopo.com.

However, that fine little chunk of clear thinking is now beyond reach and I'm more than a little hurt. I'm feeling butt-hurt. It so does not matter whether hashbro deleted or if the thread was bombed. If you did so, bro, more power to you. HA! I am feeling like a German Jew just before the sh#t hit the fan in '39. I'm not calling anyone names, BTW. The Flames has always been "the last bastion of civility" for this website, as Ron Anderson called it.

Much of the good will that I have encountered on this website has already been thanked by me. In case I have neglected anyone's efforts to encourage me in the past, let me now express my thanks simply.

Thank you.

It seems the best course is to copy my best poems and put them in the vault, maybe use them in a printed version of myself at a later time, should I have the energy.

I know I will have the time. I am happy here, but needs must be met.

I'm financially unable to continue on the internet. I'm very much in need of another lens for my camera and the camera itself needs to be put in the shop for repairs and cleaning. There is an upcoming surgery, possibly, and I need to prepare for this and any eventualities resulting from that, and that will take money I COULD spend with Comcast, the rip-off specialists.

They've gone back on their word to give me service at so and so a price and I'm just the kind who'll spit on 'em and tell 'em, "Tell withya." Once I get out of that deal, I'll be able to implement whatever long-range plan I might devise, which I hope with all my heart will take me around some of this big old country.

I'm closing up shop here on The Flames as of now, but I'm keeping faith with Pascal and not resigning. I may pop out of the baseboards now and again. We shall see.

"We shall see," said the third blind mouse to the first blind mouse.
"Hey there, see what?," said the second blind mouse, in wonderment. And they all danced out the door into the moonlight.

I may see you guys and dear neebee, my bestest friend on the Taco, next to zBrown, of course, in the funny papers or at Ringling Brothers. I may go to Tierra del Fuego, first.

Or maybe Chula Vista, where they see pretty well all the live-long day.

Smile and ask God to give me a break here. He might could be listening and I know He'll do SOMETHING! He may not. What do you have to lose? Give it a shot.

“After the bare requisites to living and reproducing, man wants most to leave some record of himself, a proof, perhaps, that he has really existed. He leaves his proof on wood, on stone or on the lives of other people. This deep desire exists in everyone, from the boy who writes dirty words in a public toilet to the Buddha who etches his image in the race mind. Life is so unreal. I think that we seriously doubt that we exist and go about trying to prove that we do.”

so Dr. F banned from Supertopo #2 was archived, eh?

Wondering about that is like wondering why Gunther Grass, Arthur Schnitzler and Thomas Mann do not warrant T-shirts, yet Nietzsche does.

I was going to start a strength vs flexibility thread, but I'm afraid it might get deleted. I have afterall had one (that I can remember) removed and my stuff is pretty innoculated (you don't see me floating in a pool of ebola detritus do you?).

Isn't there a famous climber who goes by "bird'? I'm tellin' ya, he better watch out for Goliath:

Nice birds Gnome. A couple of them look a bit suspicous though.

Keep 'em away from Spidees as Halloween approaches.

Your mom is very cute and sweet looking. Somehow I thought you were older. You are over 13, right?

then freed (1st pitch at.13 by Alan Watts in '85 or '86) I think Kyle Merriam
((she was the bomb a real valley ringer (thnx Yabo)) and I threw at the A3 second pitch, trying to free it. it was a scandal wasn't it?

But my notes would be in Miss. Paper Bag

((the stuff scribbled in Meyers&Reid light blue chockstone press'87))
are worth copying to enlarge in order to try to Decipher.

so now
are all of you happy

yes I am crying into fart wind.,. CRY wha wha wha

but really it is very foolish what some of you wish for

You wo' not understand 'cause you were, most likely,

not there but a lot of us who passed through knew it,

this site is a little bit like the valley in '72 and by '90 it was OVER.

and it was good times and bad times and life without a e net.

But it was yours, mine and hers and even the LEOs' Respected,

shoes and a chalk bag some webbing and wide eyes was all that you needed to enter.

like the last errant leaf, spinning to earth, it comes to rest

ignored, indiscernible from the rest...

undetected.

your welcome MOUSE OF MERCED!!

Say what?

we consider ourselves to be part of civil society, and much of how we conduct our lives is governed through purely verbal contracts, just as we are typically first censured for wrongdoings through verbal attacks, rather than to be whipped or tortured on the rack for it. i'd like to think we've long gone beyond the primitive and somewhat barbaric stage of physically torturing others in order to make them fear and respect our power, and as we emphasise our shift to the verbal, there must be a decline in the act of physical torture.

You could die?

Pancho was a bandit boys
His horse was fast as polished steel
Wore his gun outside his pants
For all the honest world to feel
Pancho met his match you know
On the deserts down in Mexico
Nobody heard his dying words
That's the way it goes

Okay, I've had my moment of doubt and indecision.

I'm not about to "Let go and let G.O.D.!"

Just thank God and hang on to that ledge. And it's more fun to do it as a hand-traverse than as a hands-and-knee-crawl.

Don Don's Weekend Six
or
A Half-Tale of Woe

With boyish impatience and sloth-like precision,
With over-bivouacked minds in vague indecision
We awaited the moonlight while casting derision
On various topics, such as skating and fishin’.

And speaking of water, we’d made an omission--
The haul bag was splitting, beginning division.
Our gear was all wet and we had a vision
Of what would go down, should we continue this mission.

We both said our prayers, the Act of Contrition.
Wrapping up we rapped down, avoiding collision.
But the finger of fate, had made IT’S decision,
And of this sad story the campfire’s still dishin’.

Sorry for all the blather. I had to get my head together.

Jesus is your kid, so why don't you teach Him to clean up after you, dude?

Starr's guide, most likely the muse that twinkled the M.o.M the book is perhaps the greatest treasure that came out of C B Box. The copy I've got is the eighth edition and what I first used to hike in the region
