There are fields at the bottom of the photo in which are the YVRR yards. The Bear Creek Bridge is out of frame at left.
Near the top, Hay 99 veers S. to Chowchilla and what will be Hwy 140 but then was still Burns Ranch Rd. veers left south left.
The Tioga is the tallest building in the center of town, all of eight years old.

I'm glad to hear from you anytime. This week is Facelift and I'm short of gas. Petrol, in Oslo.

Fletcher called from Fresburg last night.

This picture is for him. He's coming to rescue fair maiden from the tower.

It's all so quixotic making plans with not much dinero.

Gracias, Sir Eric, and watch for windmills, por favor.

neebee, it's a lot of work looking back through here.

There should be an official in command directing traffic rather than quixoticism.

Now THAT was an unplanned birth of a word. I'll bet it's not been used on the Taco before.

You look up your words and I'll just invent mine.

Timid: Care for some Hot Tuna with that celery?

On the Tunies production line (undated photo).

San Diego businessman C. Arnholt Smith bought some local canneries in 1948. In a 1992 interview, he told the Reader: "One guy who worked for us got the bright idea of making hot dogs out of tuna for the Catholic trade. They were called Tunies. They tasted and looked just exactly like a hot dog. Actually tasted better than a hot dog, I think. The poor guy worked his brains out perfecting that. They were in the store, but they just didn't seem to take over."

Tunies did sponsor a Little League team in Chula Vista. I wasn't on it. I played for the mortuary team.

Free Jimi Hendrix concert.

Free Coronado trolley.

Free ferry rides for passengers (10 cents), interestingly enough, on the San Diego to and from San Diego - Coronado.

Rolling in the deep. Why an open-sided bay ferry should not be on the open ocean. Taken aboard the SAN DIEGO on her delivery voyage from Oakland in 1931, courtesy of the Coronado Public Library

First computer made of carbon nanotubes is unveiled

To expunge these rogue elements, the team switched off all the "good" CNTs, then pumped the remaining "bad" ones full of electricity - until they vaporised. The result is a functioning circuit

I'm not there.
I'm rather more here.
I'm due back there.
I made a Commitment to Fletcher.
Twelve thirty in front of the Lodge and then the OPENING CH. in V.I.

Nice posts, zBrown. Did Jimi know it was Bob's b.day? Makes me wonder who's calling the tunes? Of course.

My next few minutes are going to be devoted to a short shower and then I'm posting pics from the lift.

Last night's presentations, the previous night's campfire in YP. Etc.

On the way from the Western Salt Works to Pepper Park, you will pass by Gunpowder Point, former home of the the Hercules Company, whose product was produced from kelp. Like those visions of Johanna, all that remains.

Snore-fishing.

Rim Fire Closed.

According to the latest inflammation from InciWeb on the Rim Fire:

"there continues to be no night operations. Day operations will continue to patrol the fire perimeter, mop up any heat that may pose a threat to containment lines and implement the suppression repair plan."
