Hi Dingus...
I do not have the flu... yay! (I don't think I do....ER docs never mentioned me having the flu. To be fair though, they were ruling out stroke, though I am certain if I had the flu they would have let me in on the news).
It's funny that you asked about having a fever. When we got to the ER I did not have a fever. 5 hrs into the visit the ER RN's reassessed everyone and when my turn came I DID have a fever. ????? (Actually, all my vitals changed, popping me "up the list", which really meant nothing.) {smiles}
I do not have the flu. I refuse to have the flu. I have too much sh#t to do to have the flu!

Leggs,
Pretend you do have the flu, and take it easy.
It hurts a lot less than pushing yourself and discovering that you did.
Maybe watch a good movie?

Alrighty, then. . . if you're marrying a cowboy, then it has to happen up here in the deep and immense beauty of rural Montana.
You won't have to spend much on flowers, this place is covered with them!

I had the flu back at beginning of December. There were three symptoms of note:
1. Pain. Everywhere, including one of the worst and most persistent headaches I've had in years.
2. Fever.
3. Swollen throat (glands) - painful to touch.
That was it. No upset stomach, no digestive tract issues, no congestion, no runny nose. Just pain and fever....

You know Crock, that IS actually what I DO need to do. As i mentioned earlier on, the mere act of going to Safeway last evening and shopping kind of wiped me out. I did nap for about two hours earlier this morning (after waking at 5:45am for work) and can feel my curly head telling me to stop being so "awake". There is that stubborn aspect of my personality that thinks "if you don't have a raging fever and are not hurling, go balls out!". I believe I need to rethink this, because as the day goes on, the more worn out I feel. (Good advice, I shall listen! thank you friend)

Kath, your flowers are sooooo pretty!! I love 'em.
t*r... I think you need to get married in Montana.
Dingus... Seriously, the doctors never did address if even had a COLD. Their goal was to determine I didn't have a stroke.
I would be lying if I said I felt GREAT right now, because I truly don't. I DID stay home today from work, so I think THAT'S a step in the right direction!

Docs can be as myopic as the next person leggs.
When I broke my neck I also had a nasty abrasion on my elbow with glass embedded in it. When they discharged me from the hospital I STILL had an open wound on my arm with glass in it. No one in Spinal ICU even remotely thought to check it... and I bear a sizable scar to this day too.
Anyway, there's no real treatment even if you did have the flu.
Get well leggs.
