It is FREEZING here in the desert... 15 degrees this morning, and I can guarantee the sky today will be a brilliant blue. My fingertips turned blue too driving home this morning.... not a problem)
(I always try to smell the sugar in the sh#t... see the light in the gray... I always see and notice the light... It's kind of the only way to live.)
A friend of mine said he needed a "cheerleader" to inspire him to get off his ass and take care of some sh#t he's been putting off. I sent him THIS photo. (NOT what he was "expecting")
I believe he told me to "f*#k off ... We're never going to Waffle House together again."
EDIT: I should have sent him a link to the Boobs Thread. :)

This has always stuck in my head
which tossed and turned clouds
of a different sort
swelling in my head
since starting this thread...

oh you gals and guys,
it is exhausting stomping my melancholic boots
on your lawn.
i see here in legg's pretty post
of enjoying life,
tales of beer in meadows,
climbing trips,
swollen sandwhiches,
sunrises, blue skies,
decadent desserts,
blooming deserts..
general glee and good buzz....
**though i think that i know my crew among us better than that.
the light and fluffly life is crucial to enjoyment, yes.
but the disaster aspects must bludgeon us frequently
or else we lose perspective and appreciation for the times
when we are merely free-falling towards our death.
gawdamn sometimes we have to struggle to die.
it aint a given, and it should not be.
our's genetic substance is perched precariously on
the sharp edge of domesticaion.
go club yourself.
head up a mountain under-prepared.
**
par down your rack.
pack beers in place of water.
earn your death and enjoy the taxing journey.
enjoy death.
~Norwegian
(you have no idea Norwegian, how these honest words have stuck in my head.)
I have always said, I wouldn't change the experiences I've had in my lifetime, good or bad, or I wouldn't be the woman and mother I am.
"Remember always to smile, you get your smile from me." ~mom 1986
Worth the journey ...

Great photos and words, Dingus... thank you. (check email later)
I'm in a good reflective place as the anniversary of my mom's passing is this Sunday. No matter how much time passes, it still feels like yesterday.
I would like to hop a train to the ocean this weekend to celebrate life...

Thank you, t*r ... photography is a little passion of mine. :)
“May your light shine so brightly that those who have not yet found their light will be able to their way through the dark.”
The Doris Day song ... My mom played that song for my brother and I as she tried to explain she was going to pass away. When I hear that song, which is not very often, I cannot help but smile.

When my dad died we found his to do list for the trip along with a program from a play they saw there.
Ah, Sullly... that's wonderful, and so very special and touching. :) Do you have the playbill or does your mom?
My parents honeymooned up at Heavenly Valley, taking the train up from L.A. Her ashes were scattered from a plane over Lake Tahoe, which is why my brother does everything he can to work at Heavenly in the winters, and why Tahoe is such a special home for me. ~x

Because it seems cabin fever fights are breaking out, I'm bumping this thread...
Sullly, I had the opportunity to play Lady M in Macbeth when I was a young pup studying theater in college. Great experience... my son was cast, at age 8 (?) as the son of MacDuff, and he nailed it! I wish I had photos, but I was always backstage and on a different rehearsal schedule.

If you want to share the drive on I5 in the spring, let me know.
AH! Quick question... spring in the desert is different than spring everywhere else. (It'll be "spring" in Tucson this weekend, for example) ... When is your springtime, Sullly?!
You TAUGHT Macbeth... Stop taking my breath away. My colleagues are wondering why I keep "gasping". :)
Captin... A Lute? OK. ~xx, Stella. (heh.)

^^ Yes. I wish that weren't the case, but yes. Passing in front of my father, brother and myself at home, every detail is vivid.
There are times when I fear I may "forget" something about her, but fact of the matter is, I remember everything. Esp her beautiful face and graceful hands. Oh, and the fact that she had a "Mom LOOK" that would stop my brother and I in our tracks. :)
I have a fantastic "Mom Look"... scares the crap out of my son. (hahahhaha!)

Hi Dingus! Run, if you must, but walking allows you to smell more of the flowers and see more of the blue sky above you.

You wanna talk ENJOYING LIFE?
Sista. . . NOTHIN' comes close at doin' that like SKEEZIN! (and that's a generic term for any and all leanin' done on snow!)
I Enjoy you quality ladies quite a bit... you make me smile. Thank you.
I'm off to "prepare" for rehearsal aka review my script and the development of my character, so I wish you a peaceful evening... all the way around. I get to kiss a loved one goodbye as they head out for an adventure this weekend (I have a f*#king photo shoot on Saturday... agh, but a dear friend coming in from Michigan this weekend ... yay!) and I must say, I am pretty pumped about the days ahead. :)
Enjoying Life...
