His attacks and stalking of Norton is what sucks. If he understood the better part of discretion we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Regarding contributions...yeah....about 35,000 of them, to be exact.
Yeah, he has something of a history of a positive presence at FL, and possibly some other climber-related interests (although it's hard to discern what he says vs. what he actually does).
Far and away, though, the bulk of his presence in the last two years has deteriorated into really stoooopid negativity. Very few ST'ers have had a similar 'record' of the kind of pointless, childish banter that has become fattrad's ST persona.

I concur Majid. generally I stayed away from the "Democrats are as#@&%es whereas Republicans are also as#@&%es and I'm always right threads" so maybe I missed a lot of the action you dudes were seeing. Hope he comes back. Maybe a Fattrad appreciation thread is in order to line up and remember the positive things he did (and there were many).

Contributing money or time does not buy one the ability to break the rules. I'm glad it doesn't.
Fatty knew what got him banned before. He knew he got one more chance. He continued the same behavior. I am sure the only thing surprising to him is that it took ST that long to axe him.

What got him banned the first time was spreading the non-climbing posts to CMac's thread.
What got him banned this time was going after Norton in such a personal and repetitive way.

I hate to see Fattrad/Jeff banned altogether.
If you took out his posts to political threads and only looked at his posts on climbing threads he'd be a normal contributor to this site. Unfortunately that was the minority of his posts.
Like many highly political people they tend to be less empathetic and their debates often degrade into name calling and just shouting about why they are right instead of really listening to anything the opposition has to say.
I hope he comes back and voluntarily abstains from all political threads.
As soon as I saw this thread I knew there would be comments that it was because of his political persuasion. That's BS, from what I've seen when people get banned it doesn't matter what someone believes as long as their posts are respectful.

The most fun people have around here is speculating about the last of the ( ALL TOO FREQUENT) bannings. Fattrad and I couldn't be further apart in our politics but I've always felt that his shock jock posts were more in fun than serious. There are more than a couple of people here who can attest to Jeff"s generosity. Bring him back.

Clearly the strutting bully persona online is very different from the man in person. But he knew the score and that this would happen. It wasn't enough to motivate him to reel it in. For some addictive situations, abstinence is the only cure.
