slander will get you nowhere on this thread. i know from first-hand experience that all arizona climbers are pussycats. hear that? pussycats all!

i've never been able to involve the norwegian in discussions. he would indeed be an asset. i love his poetic style. his fashion statements are unique--"the finest in the world".

my tilley goes well with my asolos, especially from the aspect of coordinated rapid deterioration. maybe you could post a picture of what you're planning to buy? this thread needs some visual appeal.

ronno, if your need is great, i will give you the key to the communist. it will require some homework, however. if you wanna get laid, you have to hustle. read this:

"The two "gorilla threads" are powered basically by six or seven folks whom average a few hundred posts each."

'A few hundred'? Ever check out the post count on some of the regulars? Last time I looked, fattrad was over 30,000! Imagine where Lois was when she got the boot....

Edit:
"But if you want front page action, might I suggest a thread titled "Why the democrats and their ideas are so lame". "

It's been done. A couple of times. I'll try to find the threads, but won't bump them.

doctor, i do admire the thickness of your hide, although i would differ with your other premises.

i don't think "politics, god and religion versus science" comes close to the kernel of that noble thread to which it played successor, "why do so many people believe in god (serious question)?"

and "politics, god, religion, science" lumps way too much into one concept and is decidedly redundant to the republicans-wrong thread, per the aspect of politics. the old god thread was about metaphysics and philosophy. your current threads are not distinct from each other, and they are such monsters right now that they are not accessible to anyone except the regulars. that's the big drawback.

Tony, this thread is bumping off other climbing-related content, and it's a subject that's been covered mannnny times. You do realize that, don't you?

there was an offbump from the god thread, dealing with evolution, i believe, that became the most visually hilarious thing on supertopo since the passing of the late, great ouch!, whose reign of mirth i unfortunately missed. but someone nuked that thread. pate may have been involved. he had this terrific nun obsession going, but i'm afraid he somehow got over it.

and where is locker these days?

apogee, i hate to put it this way, but i find at least 50 percent of the climbing content on supertopo to be, how can i say it, way lame. that's the nicest i can come up with. if you want great climbing content, come up with great climbing content and let it outshine everything else here in discussionland. you won't do that, and neither will i, or anyone else. be happy with the mix the way it is. do you discuss nothing but climbing when you go climbing and camping with your buds? if you do, you gotta be the boringest partner on the planet. we talk about politics, religion, science, relationships with the opposite sex, and offbeat, funny things--the stuff of OT here.

Tony, the subject of the imbalance of OT threads vs. the kinds of threads that this Forum is intended for (and the related argument, 'Climbing Forum' vs. 'Climber's Forum') is so well-trodden and beat to death...what is your goal with this thread?

i think i stated my goal pretty clearly at the outset, but if you want the short version (haha, with apologies to dr. F, of course), it's to stir up all the flies that are covering the cowpie.

anyway, have at it. i was supposed to go climbing with medusa today, but he seems to be sleeping in, not sure why. i think an interesting thread idea might be: what effect would a buzzcut have on the nature of the 'duse?

Tony, not trying to rip on you, but before you go, nuke this thread. It's just taking up space.

apogee, old top, i get so goddam tired of all the calls to nuke threads. discussion is free, and we have to assume that chrismac's storage space approaches googleplexity. there's never any restraint about posting memory-gobbling pictures of fannies from below or seconds coming up on toprope. the big problem with criticism on ST is that people like you are control freaks who want to dictate to everyone else. i'm trying to loosen a logjam here, and you don't even seem to appreciate that.

Politics, God and Religion & Science is the root infrastructure of all humanity.

It's weaved into everything including climbing.

It's stupid narrow minded morons on this site who think climbing is only on it's own independent island .......

Rather than increase the political content on page 1, as many have requested, perhaps this thread might be moved to the republicans thread.

Wow, drama queen or what.

You bag on the OT threads, and bag on the climbing threads.

Tony, I've read some posts of yours that were interesting and poignant. But here, quit the over-analysis. Who cares how many posts _your_ topic gets? Unless you somehow measure your worth by SuperTopo acceptance of your ideas for generating responses.

In other words, give it a rest.

Classic wisdom from the great one:
It's stupid narrow minded morons on this site who think climbing is only on it's own independent island .

Morons should book a flight to the Island for Misfit Climbers
and get the help they need.
Its only a few miles from the Island for Misfit Toys.
