Can anyone put names to this group shot? Looks like a bunch that got lost on their way to the Monterey Pop Festival.

Ken...thanks again. just saw my wife's post...she's at work...I think? I had the wonderful experience of driving to Yosemite with Warren in 1970. We came up from Merced and the one thing I remember distinctly about that drive occurred just after entering the park... we were going so fast that the corvette was drifting slightly on the sharp turns. Exciting for me because of that rock wall on my side...sometimes only inches away....I kept picturing the fiberglass body splintering on impact. Of course Warren was a great driver and knew every corner ... on that section especially. I always wondered if he was testing me. If he was, I think I passed the test...I never said much about it and it was very exciting...but not scary, as I trusted him.

oldcragster,
You and he were my two biggest influences as a youngster wanting to learn how to climb. I have many fond memories of climbing with you at the Leap and elsewhere. Plus your knowledge that you passed on to me probably saved my life.

Take care,
Ken

Cindy,

I haven't seen that one yet and I have scanned most of them. Sounds intriguing.

Thanks Guido. I was 99% sure as the view looked liked the one from the top looking west and it looked similar to some of your photos. The striking aerial shot was with it and I wonder if it was taken from the helicopter. I look forward to your report.

Can definitely verify that the photo of "Wino Towers" is NOT Wino Towers on the Dawn Wall.

I think that group photo of the LSEDFS was taken at the old Soda Springs site. Must be around 1974 ? I think that was the year the sar site was east of Parsons, we were there-all by ourselves!

I like how the "old" and the "new" shot from Dolt Tower show a completely different array of rubble on top.

Just goes to show you that things are moving around on the big bastard a lot more than many people think.
