Hey Bob,

With all that tape your caption should read, "got aid"

The first pic of Russ' I'm pretty sure is Plastic Fantastic, .11+ & burly. The second one looked like it might be around Gecko Master or Lizard King. Those are some seriously fun routes!

The Watusi shot from '87 looks like Burning Bush on the Biblical Fallacies Wall before it broke.

Now, every cheap hood strikes a bargain with the world, ends up making payments on a sofa or a girl. Badasses don't live forever, especially in the nebula. In case you're unaware of it, aging skin becomes thinner and more prone to tearing open. Even Jim Donini tapes for cracks these days. Can I take pictures when you call him a pussy? You'll note the vintage bouldering Hair Farmer pic from Deerhorn Valley doesn't have any tape in it...

leroy, who famously declared "tape is aid", on some obscure gunks 12d that we had to sneak through someone's backyard to get to, spring, 92.

as for that 20' fingers to thin hands to hands to wide hands to fists to stacks limestone roof where i'm sporting all the tape?

golly, since it still ain't had a 2nd ascent, and has spanked alla the local draw specialists who've sacked up to try it, sh#t, i'll take cred for my TAPED ascent. any critics can SUCK IT...until they DONE IT.

fist. it's wuts fer dinner.

When I come do the second ascent untaped, does that really count as the first ascent?

Still havenŽt struck a bargain with the world, still no tape and Bob I will come do that roof sans tape.Bob youŽll be the first to admit that although those guys look good with their fingersin little pockets, theyre not exactly crack climbing material.

Heh, yeah, I thought of you after I wrote that. You are, however, one of top roping's greatest proponents, so you still rate down here in Bizarro World.

Shoot Levy you beat me to it on Russ photos (which wasn't hard to do because of my slow responce) But I think your right on the name Plastic Fantastic but I recall it being 10+ no? Super steep fun stuff. Lizard Kind I believe was in the 5.11 range.

Plastic Fantastic it is... but who is the belayer and climber?

The 3 dudes are Kauk taking a photo, Cosgrove hanging out and Doug McDonald on the Donkey Show boulder.

The other one I think you guys are wrong... but without a guide book handy I don't know the name of the route. Hint... I think it is 12a and is over by Tarts of Horsham???

Mussy,

Those shots look like (1) Plastic Fantastic (2) Wyoming Cowgirls or some other turd skimmer route (3) Donkey Show Boulder, All at Hueco.

That Mountian Bike shot reminds me of a time in Tuolumne when a few fellers did some descents off various sites at Lembert dome and then got the heavy arm from Danger Ranger.

Not to mention during the same era (and this was fairly recent by Nebula standards) the same fellers got in some heat when one of them took a long facial skid while longboarding Tioga Pass to the Meadows...Halarious.

Same dude later that year took a mega whipper on Elcap while short fixing, so long and hard he landed on a ledge, smashed his ATC between his keester and the ledge, No bucket and waked away.

That night, drunk and spacey, he poofs from the fire and returns hours later - he'd road this peice o crap 10-speed to Olmstead Point (from Tuolumne Meadows), took a fall from the top of some 25' cliff, all for a can of chew he had left there earlier in the week. Bleeding like a stuck pig and fading in & out of conciousness, he survives the night and the rest is history.

damn leroy, i was gonna take you to that roof, plus a bigger betterone that ain't been done yet, but since it never got above, like, 20 degrees while you were here...it'll have to wait until next time...as i recall, it was about 18 or 19 dgerees when you did this....

but what i really wanted you to see was this:

Not the candyman!!! Bwaahahahahaaa... Susan made out really well the second night. I finished up the first night but for the most part we finished about even.

All hail the candyman and his 85o that got cracked (by me) with the nut straight (holding 8Ts).
