http://www.supertopo.com/inc/view_profile.php?dcid=ODM4PD8_OyU,

Rox is a bit out of control at times but rarely does he straight-up insult. Certainly he's never posted anything near what skipt posted.

Nice catch there ElCap. Skipt has been obsessing over JStan for a couple of years now, particularly in the Creationists Run To The Dugout thread. It finally caught up with him. Anybody understand what his problem really was with JStan?

Careful now! Jstan is not a fundamental datum. Something to be counted upon. Each of us has to maintain their own base.

I tried to work with Skip. Clumsily perhaps, but still. It is not yet clear that it did not work. Have patience. People require patience.

Imagine if you ran this site. Think of the constant stream of crap you would get. "He said this. She said that. "

When the whole idea of the forum is to get people onto the site to sell a few more guide books and hopefully put some food on the table.

I don't think he ever planned that this forum would become the international melt-down point for climbers on this world.

I don't blame him one bit. Might just be an interesting experiment to see what happens.

my guess is some of these folks will be given a time out.

it would be a good idea to observe said timeout.

Skipts post deserves a permanent banning in my opinion (which doesn't really count).

it's probably a bad idea to not take the banning seriously. creating a new account (TheTool) and continuing with the same vitriol is not the way to get let out of the dunce corner.

True, Rox's rants are usually generally directed at 'Kalis' or wolves. Not so much on the personal attacks.

Edit;
I take back everything I said on the Flamer or the Year thread! Really!

Ha! Same here. I coulda been a contender...

We are seeing something here about Chris. He is not afraid to go for it. When he sees something that he thinks may be possible, he goes for it.

That's why I am here. That's the way it is with climbers.

That's right John.

Chris is really a smart guy.

I remember when they first started doing the topo's for making the books.

Wasn't it Todd Snyder ??? can't remember.

Skip was nothing but a rude little attack dog. You could feel the hate coming from him. I'm glad the POS is gone.

Jeff's last post was in late afternoon on Monday, and now you're noticing and commenting on it? It's not like it was any secret, even his faux disguise as TheTool.

http://www.supertopo.com/climbing/thread.php?topic_id=1641723&msg=1743400#msg1743400

Anyway, I agree that some needed a time out or banishment, including those others have mentioned and who sometimes have now been deactivated. Often more so than Jeff, IMHO. Jeff sometimes has something to contribute - some of the others didn't.

The terms of service make it quite clear that management can do such things, and I support their having done it. Still, three or four time outs/banishments in one swell foop is something new, and it might help others to learn why. Pour encourager les autres, as one of Napoleon's marshals put it.

Where the hell is Lois?

She'll explain it all.

Honestly, I only post to political threads when I'm really bored. What I see there astounds me though. There are many people writing very concise, coherent thoughts and they are appreciated.

Then, there are the dozen or so people who hijack the rig just to argue. I get it, you're old, have some sort of ailment that keeps you grumpy and on the couch, and this is your outlet.

...no idea where I was going with this...

Oh yeah, a 'climbers spring'. Hijack the political threads with huge format photos of climbing, rendering the pages difficult to read. If it happens, I promise to never post to a political thread for any reason than to corrupt it.
