Maybe break the list down to Skilled people/Labor people/Money donators/Beer fetchers, so we can see what there is to work with.

I just had a new roof done at my house at the ranch, and I opted for the standing seam metal roofing. It is nearly indestructable and has a $500.00 energy savings tax credit for the home owner. Yes, It's more expensive than shingles, but neither does it ever blow off the way my shingles did...
The sequence of doing things: strip off the old schitt, replace the OSB or plywood as needed, put down Titanium, and then the metal roofing goes on very fast. He will also need new fascia in addition to roofing. The key is getting a professional to do the measurements, and that minimizes the on-site cutting of metal, since it's pre-cut to the correct lengths when ordered.

I'm also experienced with the ways of roofing and will be there to help in any way that makes sense if I can. Otherwise, count me in for a donation for materials.
I have a feeling you will have no shortage of skilled labor, and may run into the problem of too many helpers and not enough roof. A good problem to have for this kind of project.

Sure thing, the Gorden's are Golden.
Roofs are easy we could even go big and build a roof deck to party on with the assembled experience.
Tear that old lumber out and replace the dining room ceiling with gluelams spaced wide.
Clean out the garage and you have a destination resort.

Todd is one of my hero's. Count me in for a donation and my time. I am a builder and have done several types of roofs. With a certain amount of organization and clear direction a few guys could knock it out pretty easy. I will just plan a climbing trip around it.
How ever the roof is pretty low angle for comp. which is probably why it is leaking in the first place. Even with the metal roof there should be some kind of water proof membrane under it not just felt. It might be worth getting a roofing contractor out there to confirm what needs to be done. Then have a bunch of climbing cowboys go at it.

A thorough inspection and plan, pre-party, still seem the way to go. By people with experience in building and contracting, and focusing on the Gordon's priorities. Maybe we can get some of the work done that weekend, maybe some would be done on preceding or ensuing weekends. If there's more than one project, that may add to the coordination needed.

I am in JT every week, and would be happy to meet up with the ramrod to go over materials. I will be doing a similar project on a house I am buying in town, so will already have done some of the material sourcing and pricing.
