That's a book I would love to read... I've been to yosemite a few times, and have yet to go to the mountain room bar
You're about 20 years too late. The Mt. Room Bar went all chi-chi and uptight. Now you gotta take a shower and wear your Patagucci outfit to even get in. Werner's living in the past....again. And I can't wait for the book either.
Best place to sit on the porch with a beer after a day on the mountain: Tioga Pass Resort. But PLEASE don't be a cheapskate. Buy your beer from them instead of pulling it out of your cooler.

I liked Horsefeathers in North Conway NH and Bacus in New Paltz NY. But I still prefer the old Swiss Inn at the base of the Gunks, which is now kaput. The Brauhaus is an excellent proxy for the Swiss Inn, however.

I'm going to have to say the best climbing bar goes to the camper of a certain North Tahoe dirtbag who has been known to crawl through these parts. His truck is always stocked and ready to go. You name it, he's got it, Long Islands, bit of the Crown, Margies. It's a four star bar on wheels.
He has been known to climb on occasion.

the south ridge appears to be the longest of a few admittedly short lines ...
without a doubt, this view from the porch of the buckhorn bar is as close to climbing as any i've seen

We had a lot of good times in the King Eddy in Banff back in the 70's. Was torn down years ago after real money moved into Banff

Anyone ever have their gf stick their undies on the ceiling at the Cutthroa

Their undies? Or their GF’s undies?

+1 for Chamois Bar for the win. End of thread
