My thoughts and condolences go out to family and friends. Never met them but wish I had; the smiles in the posted photos say a lot.

I am crushed by this. Got news early yesterday and could barely speak. I've known Allison since college in Chico. 20 plus years. Andy, she has lots of friends there and I believe most have been contacted. Al was the happiest I've seen her recently and Kipp had alot to do with that .I had met Kipp only briefly over beers and in the KT line. Like Allison he was always smiling. Cheerish your friends and family and let them know you love them. Life is sweet but short. I'll miss Allison and regret not getting to know Kipp better.

Sorry to hear of this. I met Allison a few times,The last time was in Eldo and she was on crutches and in a cast i beleive, but that did not stop her from joining us on the west side of the bastille and top-roping the West face 5.10c. Pretty impressive and one tough cookie.
May Allison and Kip Rest in Peace.

I didn't know Allison and Kip, but as a lifelong backcountry skier this news has affected me deeply.
I am doing a slide show tonight at Alpine Meadows (this was already arranged for the Professional Ski Patrol), and I have reorganized it to offer a tribute to Allison and Kip. I have borrowed some photos off this thread, and I wanted to invite any of their friends to come.
I am dedicating this show to them, and I've pulled together info about the conditions when they went up to Split Mountain -- because we all want to know -- and reorganized what I am going to show of skiing and climbing to honor their memory.
I'm very sad for your loss. For this community they called home. If any of you feel up to it, please come to Alpine this evening. And please help me get the word out. This is hasty and impromptu, but heartfelt.
Alpine Meadows Lodge. Doors open at 8:00. My presentation at 8:30.
Please excuse me for intruding on your grief and the sadness of their community. I just wanted to do something to honor their lives as fellow mountaineers.
Sincerely,
Doug Robinson

Alison, was one of my best friends. I woke up today hoping that her death was a bad dream. She
was an A-list climber and skier and we shared many adventures together. Her endurance, possitive
attitude, humor and thrift store atire are ledgenary. She will be missed beyond words.
Nice photos Heliose. The Grouse Slab boulders were one of her favorite spots. I propose they be
called the AK boulders in the future.
Peace, Mike D

Words will never be able to completely express feelings appropriately for the loss of two fine individuals. My condolences to families and closest friends.
An oldish twenty something who barely knew Alison and Kip put it best yesterday, " They both were extraordinary people"
Doug, I'll copy and post the slide show on FB for the rest of the Tahoe area tribe, very fitting.
Respect.

There will be a celebration in honor of the life lived by Allison Kreutzen sometime this week in Truckee. I can post details if the people wish it.

Slobmonster, please post the details if possible... I was just talking to Allison's old boy friend from years past. He wanted to know if there was going to be a memorial in Truckee.
Edit, Thank you..
