Good move Seattle. Win the coin toss, and elect to give the ball to Carolina so they can score.

It's stupid every time they do it. What's the point of winning the coin toss?

the point is so that you receive at the beginning of the second half. Often puts the other teams defense on the field longer in the second half, which is a big key to a powerful 4th quarter.

Is that worth starting the game behind by a touchdown? Because that's what KC and Seattle both got for giving away the ball after winning the coin toss.

Another reason to kick is if you have a strong defense and can shut them down early, then you get to play a short field. Ie.. kickoff.. 20 yard line… hold them to 3 and out and then they punt. You get the ball at the 30 or 40 instead of receiving a kick off and averages say you get the ball at the 20. Then you just keep doing that and you get to play short field football.

Of course that depends on your defense. Get beat by their offense and you look the fool.

Seahawks will make Cam Newton look silly next week. The Panthers barely
beat the Hawks in the early season while the Hawks were still in a swoon.
Panthers had a ridiculously weak schedule.

Looks like Cardinals at Panthers, sure to be a better game than the Superbowl.

When I played.... we always wanted the ball first. Then we would do "the plan"..... kick ass.

You can put a fork into the hawks... they are done.

Glad I forgot to watch the Seanots. For hard-core fans, here's a not so reassuring fact:

According to ESPN Stats & Information, in the last 15 years, teams that have trailed by 31 points at any point are 0-325. The Seahawks trailed 31-0 going into halftime.
