Funny how MTucker aka Fletcher Ogg keeps avoiding the question.

Since MTucker ordered a D5 hammer will IHP tell us who he really is?? They would for sure know since they are sending this ass clown a hammer.

BASE104.... he's angry probably for a number of reasons. It's a matter of time before karma catches up to him. I feel sorry for anyone who knows Fletcher. If he's as miserable here as in person he's a real piece of work... or did I say sh#t earlier??

Yes... I said sh#t.

A buddy at the DZ informed me that this thread has been "RESURRECTED", too funny. He just shook his head back and forth and said, “those guys posting on the taco would be blown away at how much fun you are having while they are bitching on the internet”, haa haa. I’ve been hucking, climbing, running, flying… hey, it’s not for everyone…

Yes, it’s obvious that I know/knew that BASE jumping in National Parks is illegal in this country. I’m also man enough to stand up and take what is coming to me, although I’m flabbergasted by the 50,000 volts. I strongly disagree that the BASE jumping law is fair and that certain federal employees get so worked up about such an innocent activity that they use a potential lethal weapon on a human that has committed a victimless crime.

The whole taser ordeal is what I’m completely miffed about, Ogg didn’t have to do it. I was on my knees complying when he hand-tased me. It was scary as hell to hear him laughing like some evil monster.

After his fellow colleague had only found one barb in me, one in the neck and one hit my rig (It takes two barbs to get the volts) he questioned Ogg about it and he flat out lied and said, “it must have fallen out… or maybe it just takes one to get the juice.” Why did he feel like he had to lie? Answer: because I was on my knees with my hands on my head, in submission. Being tased is no laughing matter, not the way I got it, people die from it and it’s not just the old or weak.

Yes, I drank two beers while walking up to the exit, I was taking my time, it took 2 hours. I’m guessing I was at .02 at the exit.. not even slightly buzzed. I drank a half of a congrats beer (Sierra Nevada, Torpedo, yum) after I landed. So, it takes at least 30 minutes before a correct BAC level could be determined, and why didn’t they take the formal test once we got back to the John Muir?

So, all in all everyone was doing their job really well, I must say.

Except for Ogg, he got WAY too much pleasure out of tasing me. I guess that’s why he’s a taser instructor. Go figure.

The DA, who did her job really well, wanted an extra 2.5k in fines to get my gear back. Hhmm, Wingsuit, 1,100 and BASE rig 1,800 = 2,900… barely worth it. But, I love my gear so I go for their “bargain”. Well, the Judge, who I can’t help to respect, and I’m being genuine, seems like what a Judge should be. I also had a vibe that he didn’t exactly agree with what happened, he was going by what the laws says. I regret that he didn’t get a chance to hear what happened in court.

The Magistrate actually said, “I think we might be setting him up for failure” and reduced the fine to 1,500 extra to get my gear back, 4k total. Now, I take THAT as a challenge… bigwall style.

I don’t have the time to read everything up-thread, but that’s my account. I’m going to continue my pursuit of happiness and keep raising awareness of the assault on BASE jumpers in NP's.

Continue on and have fun with it boy’s and girl’s… ladies and gents.

YUP, it’s worth every penny… I’m OUT!!!

*shakes head* Jessusssss.

Someone cut, paste and mail this off to the lad.

There is a great post in the comments section underneath that article by a guy calling himself Randy English. Right on the money.

"NPS ban on BASE jumping is arbitrary and without merit. Higher risk activities such as free soloing are allowed. More environmentally destructive activities such as horseback riding are allowed. I would wager more people die annually going over Vernal or Nevada Falls than BASE jumping. Granted more people walk to the falls than BASE jump, but if safety is the reason for the ban on BASE jumping, the trail to Vernal/Nevada falls should be closed for safety as well.

In my discussion with NPS staff two reasons for the ban are cited. The first is safety. When I have countered with the above arguments about free soloing/tourists going over falls, they have stated their real concern is not the jumper, but motorists crashing because they are watching the jumper not the road. Then the real concern is cited, the fear of subsequent lawsuits from said motorists. The solution for their first concern is simple, scheduled road closures, perhaps for one hour every Wednesday afternoon (arbitrary time/day just for example). No traffic, no distracted motorists. Road would be open for emergency vehicles and since they are driven by professionals there should be no concern about the driver not watching the road. (Some may argue about closing the valley floor to automobile traffic altogether due to environmental degradation but that is another issue altogether)

Their second argument is BASE jumping is a nontraditional activity outside the scope of recreation in a national park. This argument is so spurious that it noes not merit a rebuttal. It makes as much sense as banning digital photography in the park because it was not in use during Ansel Adams lifetime.

NPS land is owned by the people not the agency that oversees the land. The NPS should not have the authority to ban any nondestructive use of the peoples land (Cue Woody Guthrie...)

I am not a BASE jumper. I am a climber/skier/backpacker. I am concerned that if the NPS can place an outright ban on an activity like BASE jumping, the activities I enjoy can be banned as well. Remember for a time in the 50's the NPS banned Warren Harding from his first ascent attempts on the Nose of El Cap due to traffic concerns.

As for BASE jumping off private property, well that is private property and the property owners have rights. Proceed at your own peril. "

This: NPS land is owned by the people not the agency that oversees the land.

He is serene; this was exactly how he'd planned it. He arches up toward the sky, lets out a deep "Huh," and pushes off.

Of all the reasons Ammon McNeely shouldn't have just done that, the gravity now pulling him to earth is just the first. If he's caught doing this he could face significant earthly consequences. He is on federal probation for jumping off the side of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park in August. Having pleaded guilty in federal court in December to illegal air delivery of a person by parachute, he's supposed to be following the law to the letter

How would get caught doing this? It's not like a description of you commiting the crime, with pictures, isn't on the front cover of the SF WEEKLY!

Oops, I was wrong. http://www.sfweekly.com/

Ammon, do you think you're probation officer can't read? For a smart guy, you sure can be one dumb motherf*#ker!

Ammon must enjoy his time behind bars.

Claims love of freedom but on the way to have it taken from him.

Sad story really.

Lindsay Lohan and Ammon are traveling the same path.

Next time he goes to court this article and all prior criminal acts will follow him.

The time of unsupervised probation is over.
