This is a very exciting thread and I would not horn in had I not been mentioned. No, I learned to climb with MITOC but at no time was enrolled at that school. After smarting off on one occasion a MITOC type did warn me saying, “Careful! You too may be replaced by a non-linear servomechanism.” Based upon MIT’s expertise, I had no choice but to take the warning quite seriously. Much earlier I had had the great pleasure of meeting Millie at MIT and later I talked to a student of hers. He said every one of her students would have done anything for her.

It is just a suspicion but I suspect MIT is like most places. Anything and everything can be found there.

TiG - Nobody really thought Rajmit was an MIT student. And if, by any stretch, the person WAS in MIT, it was quite obvious they weren't involved in their coursework!(too much round-the-clock posting).

But I think that many, including me, believed that Rajmit was actually YOU, trolling....

Happie, you are now waffling on behalf of everybody?! :-)
As to your assertion, you are wrong. Never posted under his moniker. That is the way students are today though, BTW. Except when they are using cell phones, which with many may actually be permanently attached. Weird hours!

eKat - of course, you are correct. I think he actually told that story. And Rajmit is not an Indian name, at least so far as I know.

Cheers. Please add some nominations to the best of thread. Cool Knott video there for those who never saw it.

nobody cared then, and nobody cares now

if you just insult and antagonize, that is NOT what is meant by "a troll". perhaps you could make the argument that if the dorky father was himself pretending to be the idiot son (and acting that way) it would then have been "a troll", but it would still have primarily been annoying and not much more.

there is nothing arond here for either to be proud of, and that either of them shows their face around here is testimony to their own collective inability to grasp what others think of them...

So is that the deal? One should be concerned about what others think of them? How fvkking stupid! If that is how you live your life, I feel sorry for you. Especially if you care what someone thinks of you in this potentially anonymous wonderland of arrogant spew and chunder. And in case you missed it, I dont care what you think of me or my post. GOODNIGHT NOW!

OK - I made a fool of myself in this thread, but I certainly do knott regret bumping it.

The fact remains that the dynamic duo of DadIsBad/Rimjob have garnered far and away
the most negative feedback on this forum - on an order of magnitude. No amount of
snappy comebacks––however stunning––can negate this simple fact. Have a nice day.

Control, in this context, is a concept of more concern to non parents. Parents know that you guide, teach, influence, discipline and motivate your progeny. Control is not and should not be part of the mix beyond the not letting them walk into traffic stage.

The whole Raj/Trad thing was a punchline I never got. It was clear almost immediatley that he was not the MIT student he constructed, that he was 'Somone Else.' He said some funny things, told us how clever he was, and promised a payoff.

That never materialised.

Somehow I don't get how 'My dad is on the internet too!' (assuming even that's true) rises to the point of an epiphany.

What kind of aha!™ moment is that?
Was there something more to it I didn't 'get'?

This thread will never last that long, unless it reaches radioactivity. . .and it's not that hot. . .
As for cops (or pigs, as they are better known as), come to
Denver if you want to find some good (ha)! cops. They shoot first, ask questions later, and then cover it up.

I posted, early on somewhere or other that because of his language he sounded younger than he was portraying (unless it was an older person doing that on purpose)
I really did get a laugh out of those ones where his fake roomates would take over his computer while he was watching 'the big game.' Wonder if there even were games going at those hours?

Bu tstill, what is the signifigance of having a dad posting here too? unless...

Bullshít. "Getting one over" would mean that he somehow fooled anyone. He was merely an incredible
pain in he ass with an astonishing lack of maturity. Loading up the front page with countless inane,
BS threads and then deleting many of them, ect. He was merely one of many losers to show up here with
a severe megalomania complex - likely taking out his frustration from his lack of success in getting laid.
How about the Crowleyesque™ fashion in which he stalked and ruthlessly pestered Lois? Was that "getting over"?
Would telling someone that they should die (or kill themselves) at a time when many of us were reeling from a
rash of recent shocking suicides of our friends a part of "getting one over on ST"?

He got under our skin, in a way akin to a mosquito buzzing in your ear when you're about to go to sleep.
Aside from all that, beware of people who constantly try to "prove" how smart and clever they are.

It's pretty much always bullshít.

Well... it's not Bullshit at all. One of two things happened. I still regard him as the greatest troll the taco has seen. Why? Because of two reasons.

1) either you didn't get where he was coming from and you bought into his trolling (by responding in plethora)

OR

2) you did get where he was coming from and though you didn't buy into his troll you responded in plethora (reverse troll?).

A few saw how lame his troll attempts were and kept out of the mix. But most did not and he stirred more sh#t on this forum than I've yet seen (well, minus the Jody VS evolution stuff but that's not a troll so it don't count). So no matter how you slice it his presence caused a huge stir. He owned so many of you. Good troll in my book.

What I don't get is what was compelling enough about the troll that it got so much attention. Any ideas?
