Shack - Have to disagree here. It is a BD, even though it was easy to make it happen. ST should prevent blank topics, since they can't be formatted to click on them in the forum page. I have been trying to reply to one. Fabricating a URL that will actually get you to the reply page for one of those blank topics will not post the reply even though it will let you construct one. I think that is probably why he can't delete - though if he figures out how to fabricate the right URL, it might let him delete the post.

Good for you. Maybe spend a little more time on your projects and papers and a little less time being annoying. Not sure what your "projects" are, but here's a theme for you, "How not to be an annoying ass". Bet your advisors might find some fitting advice to further your advancement in society.

It comes to me as no surprise, that on that list of things Rajmit spends his time doing, that climbing is not among them.
When I was young Rajmit's age, the guys at MIT, armed only with slide-rules and pencil sharpeners, were putting men on the moon.
Now with more computer power than all the moon shots put together, all we get from Rajmit is idiotic post after idiotic post, each one more asinine than the one before.

Rajmit:
You really needs your own room and cup full of “calming” pills. Not to mention a tight nylon shirt with straps that is not designed with your comfort in mind.
Don’t you feel sorry for RJ's dog? I bet his dog is “bad” a lot, and needs to be disciplined.
I bet he has a tantrum when he doesn’t get his midday “special” smoothie, veins in his forehead swelling, swelling…
Get a clue, fat-slapper. Yer million-miles worse than TIG. Crawl off somewhere under a boulder and mumble yer mind-numbing tripe at the lichen. Scream into a bag until you’re hoarse. Go flog a frozen rack of beef until you’re knuckles are bloody. Pick a direction and run until your sneakers wear through.
Just go away, please!
You are the worst kind of arrogant, delusional clown-boxer. Sorry to break it to you, but your dribbling, peevish contributions do not conceal your personality (for which you seem to need a kind of psychiatric toupee, badly).
See this tiny island on the map of the world (pick smallest land-mass)? There might be someone there who cares about what you’re saying. Go and see.
You’re a terrorist from the Planet Boring, a stormtroopers from the elite Windbag-Simpleton Regiment, Private Rajmit reporting for duty SIRRR! Good god do you have waaay to much time on your hands.
You should be forced to run in a giant hamster wheel, powering a battery to provide electricity to a 3rd world town.
Pick up tennis for god’s sake, there’s fantastic tantrum potential there, and the clothes are so cute. We’re all sick of your drivel.
Stop taking out your unrequited perversions on the climbing populace at large. You’re really starting to raise a suspicious and unhealthy stink in the “ST community.” Which, by the way, you think you rule with an iron fist.
Your mind is a dim bulb casting horrible greeen light, a buzzing speaker screeching out vapid, bland, grey-flavored nonsense.
Quit that stupid school ASAP, go out on the road, and learn something real and worthwhile. You are obviously in desperate straights.
Good luck.

I thought everyone knew this, but apparently they don't:
"Rajmit Sadduri" = Jeff Batten (same as Juan deFuca).
It was obvious from his "exchange" with Juan back on 11/2 or so. Also, if you try looking up "Rajmit Sadduri" in the directory on the MIT web page, there's no match.

Even though I think that Raj is somewhat of a jerk (by the content of his posts), I have to defend him when people stereotype him as being a Middle Eastern terrorist.
He stresses he is of Indian heritage, and while there are fanatical Muslims in India, methinks he is not one of them. Criticize him for his posts, but leave ethnicity out of it.

I am pretty sure there haven't been any Buddhist terrorists, or killings in the name of Buddha. I don't think any other religious group can make that claim.
I had dinner with the Dalai Lama last month, and he was criticizing funadamentalism. But the surprise was he was specifically commenting on Christian Fundamentalism.

Hey Forrest...do you have a sense of humor or do you assume all posts are serious?
My point was to demonstrate that some things are inappropriate to joke about.
Perhaps accusing someone of being a terrorist because they appear to you to be middle eastern is one of these things. Judging from Rajmit's post above, he doesn't seem to think this is the case.
But I'm willing to bet that Sikhs or actual middle eastern arabs who've been treated badly because of this sort of preconception might feel differently.

A few days after the 9/11 attacks, I was walking up Seventh Avenue and stopped into my local "cheap brand-name jeans, socks and stuff like that" store, which is owned and run by two guys who are middle eastern.
The windows had been hit with eggs, and one was cleaning them off. I said hello to him and commented about what a jerk the person who had done it must be, and when I looked into his eyes, I could see that he was fighting back tears.
These were guys who'd had this store for years; guys you'd see standing outside on a sunny day and say hello as you passed. Part of my community.
Any way, I asked how things had been going, to the other one and he said the business was suffering badly. People who used to stop in all the time were walking by with their heads averted. Strangers were lobbing nasty remarks as they passed by - stuff like that.
It's not right.
I would rather smile and say hello to a man who 3 seconds later blew himself(and me, obviously) to smithereeens than make accusations about someone simply because they "fit the profile."
It is so upsetting that middle eastern people are now going through the same thing in this country that asians delt with in WWII, and that black people have had to deal with. How on earth some of us can let our fears make us so stupid is very sad.

For the record, I didn't Bump And Run™––I'm proud of my well-timed bumps.
However, I am also very glad to see this bumped, as it serves as a grim reminder of
what can happen when people fail to use birth-control. It's about social responsibilty.

Raj is certainly correct about this. The official MIT
directory only lists employees.
Also, can people stop referring to MIT students as
_geeks_? It just isn't that true anymore; most
of the students are very well rounded, have many
interests. I think I sense some jealousy of students
who make to a top school like MIT...

My bumping this thread was meant as a subtle joke, since your shít-for-brain spawn
bumped a bunch of my old threads to fill the front page at the same time that people
were mourning the death of Todd Skinner. Those were the last "posts" he made as Rimjob.
Didn't your MIT-wannabe spawn tell you how and why he FINALLY got banned?
Nobody was fooled by your little turd's posing as an MIT student. After his very first post,
I clicked on his e-mail, and it WASN'T AN MIT DOMAIN, genius. WTF, indeed.

People with who go to MIT get MIT e-mail addresses, and proudly use them.
Of course they could use another e-mail if they wanted to act like idiots. But
then real MIT students don't act like immature idiots posting BS 'round the clock.
When I was in 10th grade I was chasing girls––and girls were chasing me––I had gotten laid by then.
You keep bringing up his grade/age as some sort of valid excuse. If I had acted around adults
as your poorly brought up spawn acted here, I would have gotten a boot to the ass,
and rightly so. Go read some of the first posts in this very thread, it speaks volumes...

Maybe you can scan through the id's here. There are a lot of guys in school, teaching there, etc. Off the top of my head, I can only think of one poster here who uses .edu email account and it is not even LEB!

Well, they are math, engineering, and science students, historically if not currently more often male than female, and all adolescents. It may be just possible that such persons would act like immature idiots. Most students do sooner or later.

This is a very exciting thread and I would not horn in had I not been mentioned. No, I learned to climb with MITOC but at no time was enrolled at that school. After smarting off on one occasion a MITOC type did warn me saying, “Careful! You too may be replaced by a non-linear servomechanism.” Based upon MIT’s expertise, I had no choice but to take the warning quite seriously. Much earlier I had had the great pleasure of meeting Millie at MIT and later I talked to a student of hers. He said every one of her students would have done anything for her.
It is just a suspicion but I suspect MIT is like most places. Anything and everything can be found there.

if you just insult and antagonize, that is NOT what is meant by "a troll". perhaps you could make the argument that if the dorky father was himself pretending to be the idiot son (and acting that way) it would then have been "a troll", but it would still have primarily been annoying and not much more.
there is nothing arond here for either to be proud of, and that either of them shows their face around here is testimony to their own collective inability to grasp what others think of them...

Control, in this context, is a concept of more concern to non parents. Parents know that you guide, teach, influence, discipline and motivate your progeny. Control is not and should not be part of the mix beyond the not letting them walk into traffic stage.
The whole Raj/Trad thing was a punchline I never got. It was clear almost immediatley that he was not the MIT student he constructed, that he was 'Somone Else.' He said some funny things, told us how clever he was, and promised a payoff.
That never materialised.
Somehow I don't get how 'My dad is on the internet too!' (assuming even that's true) rises to the point of an epiphany.
What kind of aha!™ moment is that?
Was there something more to it I didn't 'get'?

How about the Crowleyesque™ fashion in which he stalked and ruthlessly pestered Lois? Was that "getting over"?

Well... it's not Bullshit at all. One of two things happened. I still regard him as the greatest troll the taco has seen. Why? Because of two reasons.
1) either you didn't get where he was coming from and you bought into his trolling (by responding in plethora)
OR
2) you did get where he was coming from and though you didn't buy into his troll you responded in plethora (reverse troll?).
A few saw how lame his troll attempts were and kept out of the mix. But most did not and he stirred more sh#t on this forum than I've yet seen (well, minus the Jody VS evolution stuff but that's not a troll so it don't count). So no matter how you slice it his presence caused a huge stir. He owned so many of you. Good troll in my book.
