Yes lots of posts were deleted by one person. It should not bump the post back to the top. It should be configured just like an edit.

Whoever configured this forum did not do so correctly.

If you write something you should keep it as a reminder to yourself of what you were thinking at the time. You'll be much better in the long run when you can reflect on these matters.

The Forum programming has been updated.

From now on, if you edit or delete a posted message it no longer has the effect of bumping a thread to the top of the list.

RJ

P.S. Deuce's suggestion of having posts only editable for a limited period of time has also been implemented. After 10 days, the edit button will no longer appear.

LEB et al:

If you don't mean to say it, then don't say it. Drunks, huffers, deviants and all the rest should think BEFORE they post or look like an idiot for all time. What is the problem with that??

I've seen many posts changed and rechanged and softened and what-not and it is BS. I've responded to posts only to see that what I was responding to is now changed or the OP'er has backpedaled to where no followup post is even needed. Lame.

Maybe I'm just envious of you "edit button" guys. For some reason I have not had any edit button for maybe a year or more. Do I miss it? For spelling stuff and occasional clarity, yes, for content, no. Have some conviction in your words.

Edit buttons are for folks who use tape... like me.

Hey Russ, the reason you don't have an edit button is becuase the rest of us like what you say the first time. We don't want no revisions, we like it unadultrated.

The reason I have an edit button is because I cannot grammar right.

Hardman Knott: Deschutes Black Butte Porter

One of my best friends and high school climbing buddies, Steve Fish, brother Gary started that brewery in Bend, Oregon.

I haven't had any of his brew for over ten years, but apparently he is going from strength to strength and making mucho moola to boot. I use to work and party with Gary and one of his best friends is one of mine, Andy. We all knew that Gary would be rich one day, some people have that entrepreneurial flare, some don't (certainly not me).

Enjoy the brew (though we made just as good if not better in the 1970s out of our small winery in Walnut Creek). If you are up in Napa, check out Conn Valley Vineywards off the Silverado Trail and then Conn Valley. One of my brothers, Mac, is the head winemaker there.

Actually TradHog, your refusal to use an edit button may explain a lot on reflection.
