I work for a fairly large company, and I have been responsible for hiring a few people over the years. When we start the hiring/screening process (we do heavy background checks), we start with basic google searches of the candidate. You see all kinds of stuff......court cases, crazy blogs, questionable Facebook profiles, psycho Twitter posts, all kinds of weird shit; and yes, random forum posts. If you see some racy pics (commonplace with 20 somethings' FB profiles), or some back and forth ribbing and banter on a forum, you assume that the person is normal. You might also assume that the person has a good sense of humor - a highly valuable trait when dealing with clients. If you see pics that are OBVIOUSLY manipulated by a third party.....non issue. However, the one thing that you ALWAYS stay away from, the major deal breaker, is a history of litigiousness. As an employer, the one thing you fear most, and avoid like the plague, is a person who has the tendency to sue. Pathetic little creature.

Prospective employer sees hundreds of posts of mainly chest thumping, diatribes and name calling with many allusions of violence, retribution and a total lack of self deprecation.......

Dick Cheney hiring? If not, then who? et tu brutus?

Seems to me, those photos would be the least of lances hurdles to surmount.

Bravo!

-and ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!1111

I generally skip the loquacious megalomaniacs' posts, but the average employer might knott.

As the classic WWII saying goes: "loose lips sink ships".

Rokjox has done a remarkable job of sinking his own.

As one who had their legal name linked to their non-business internet crap, I can tell you it is not fun doing a Google search and seeing the bullshit come up - years later - within the first items.

You all may be right that the person this thread is yanking off about has posted some rude and mean stuff. But do you really want to have it in the back of your mind, as you watch that person struggle financially, that it was THIS stupid thread that has assisted in their difficulty in finding work? Do you really want his family, perhaps his wife, to find such a thing and then go clicking off to see what else he's had to say online? Really?

I know this is all in 8gud* fun to some of you, but my god; What wankery. Winter cabin fever is about the best I can categorize the reason for it being.

Please - Give it a rest already. Forget about the photos; just go back and delete his legal name - those who have posted it. If not as an act of kindness, then out of a favor to me. I can tell you that I do not enjoy the fact that my family can search my name and get a nice, juicy, nasty post about my private life, in an area that is pretty high on the sensitivity scale for me. Perhaps you might be doing more damage than you are imagining.

Lance had every opportunity to remove this post (and the subsequent taunting that followed).
He chose knott to.

whoa- I never saw that. After seeing that I'm thinking he's getting "Payback Lite" comparatively.

Way uncool.

edit: Way to man up on the name Dave. I'll now officially rescind my prior statement about the name pulling.

Thanks.

A little perspective goes a long way (especially so in this case).

It's so easy to come off all bad*ssy with people on here, but I don't really see it paying off for people.

So if RJ is such an obvious whack job (and that appears to be the case, although we're only getting one side of the story), why are you all taunting him so much instead of just leaving the guy alone?

Is cyberbullying someone who seems to have some mental health issues and a rough life really that much fun?

But thanks for allowing me to feel morally superior--a feeling I don't often get to enjoy.

Ahh, poor Rokjox the victim...

So no mention of his HARASSING EMAILS AND PHONE CALLS, not to mention thousands upon thousands
of antagonistic (and some demonstrably libelous) posts made by him, and WE are the bullies all of a sudden
by posting unflattering PS jobs of him, and posting some of his quotes?

ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!1111

Poor, poor victim!
And if Y'all can't understand that, especially YOU locker, you worthless jerkwad, you can goddamn well BET I ain't gonna forget it, and I am going to find some way to bring it HOME to you.

It's easy to say "Lance had it coming." I said it upthread, and it's probably true. But nonetheless, instead of just continuing to make fun of him, maybe we should all back off a bit and see what happens.

The man is obviously troubled, and his troubles are compounded by drink. He often vents unreasonable anger on this forum, but maybe what's happened in the last few days will make him realize that if he tones himself down and contributes in a positive way, then this kind of crap won't happen in the future. Who knows?

One thing I do know is that poking a caged animal with sharp sticks is no sign of maturity or humanity. We've all had a turn at telling him that it was his own uncontrolled and aggressive behavior that led to this, so maybe now is the time to say "You've paid the price, so come on back and if you make a positive contribution, you'll be welcome.

Ghost is right, what's the point in ridiculing someone who is obviously troubled to begin with? Some of the attitude on this thread remind me of a bunch of teenagers picking on the fat kid who doesn't fit in... pretty pathetic really, maybe it's time to grow up a little bit huh? Just because one guy is a big baby doesn't give a free license for some of you to turn into a bunch of malicious adolescents in forum-land. I'd recommend trying a new hobby for some of you guys, because climbing obviously isn't doing it for you anymore...oh yeah, that reminds me why I never bother looking at this site anymore.
