Jim's Hammer is 12 and 3/4" inches long. The pic is a bit deceiving.

Nicely done.

I would suggest the Fisher Towers too for more adventure choss climbing.

I still don't have any recollection beyond the first two pitches but will ask Barbella if he remembers anything at all.

I spoke with Barbella a few days ago. His recollection seems better than mine - our ascent was probably around '82. He says we did two pitches - said we looked at the next section but it didn't look like it had been climbed, so we rapped off on some bolts in a large block - (sound familiar?). Anyway, I'm sure I used Richard's comments on the last two pitches for my '83 guide. So perhaps they don't exist - who's going up to finish the route then is the question...???

The pitch of Bagalaar above you

Thanks Paul, The anchors at the 1st belay ARE in a lodestone, the 2nd pitch anchors were originally 2 buttonheads, one down and right and the other up and left (separated by at least 2.5 feet)

Munge got word from an FA member that they only climbed the 2 pitches, planned on a return but never got around to it.

This route was one of the big mysteries at pinnacles. Now it is solved thanks to the web!

Munge and I looked at the rest of the roof in hopes of finishin the route. After a couple bolts to gain the roof crack from the 2nd belay it would be a bolt ladder to the top.

We may have to wait another decade or three before another party heads up there with the intent on finishing this choss masterpiece.

Thanks for the communication with JOhn B. YOu guys Rock!

Thx Paul.

Yeah, interwebs is great. We might even get some insight on the FA of the bolt ladder on the back side of the hand. Forgot to email Craig this weekend. I'm still kind of hoping he'll post up. He's seen the threads here and got a kick out of the pics.

emailed Craig, but haven't heard back yet. Let me try and ping his son about the route on the back side of the hand. Mo, you on here?

cheap excuse to bump a climbing thread and think about Pinns tomorrow, bump.

Mucci,

Still not as scary as "The Sail" on "The Titanic", no?

EDIT: I think i recall Mucci saying something like "move to climbers right - move to climbers right - she's gonna blow!"
