, I am a corporation. I can go off on that and free trade and unions and all that until the cows come home if you want me to.

I would like to hear what you have to say Base. I thought your analysis of each president was well done. ( whether you are a liberal, independent, or conservative. I don't care. I would just like to hear what you have to say. )

I have problems with how unbalanced some unions have become, but don't see a way to balance major corporations without them. I don't think I understand much about free trade, nor how we can compete with countries that have incredibly low wages, so I would like to hear what you have to say.

I was grateful for Japanese autos, as the competition greatly improved American autos. So I'm trying to figure out how to save American industry, while keeping competition.

Iraq is a different story. Treasonously started a pre-emptive war based on fabricated and manufactured intelligence.

Fixed that for you...

Compare this BRILLIANT! analysis (or most of Norton's or DA's) to

Dr.F...i agree with you but the sly corporations dupe the poor middle class teabaggers into believing that they are going to get the tax cuts when in reality the corporations get the free pass...hard to beat that republican propaganda machine when the masses swallow the hook , line and sinker..

Say you are Apple or whomever. You can pay so many cents for a domesticaly produced widget and go broke, because your competitor pays far less to have the same thing produced overseas. It is not in your self interest to go broke.

There are some good things about "greed." Your widget is cheap. When you go buy an Ipod, you really don't care about jobs because it isn't in your self interest to pick an equal product that costs more. So face it, there are no altruists. Business is a brutal process. Greed motivates us far more than we would admit, in a general sense.

Apparently you do not own much Apple stock or know much about the company.

The value in an ipod, iphone, or similar device is not in the cheap electronics manufactured overseas. It is the content.

dudes, we are so fawked. Im just back from a inland tour of China. I've been going for 11 years now, but last 4 have only been to major cities. You CANNOT, I repeat, CANNOT imagine the infrstructure and technology and developement that has gone down. We as a nation are past history. As we shut our space program down, China has just begun, and in many other ways their tech and manpower is unbelievable and massive. They are a rolling steamroller, and we are bankrupt. Sad times for America. But we allowed the politicians to bring us to this point. George W. and Cheney and Rumsfeld should all be tried as traitors. From my point of view, it appears they planned this whole thing. and now it is to late. Keep on bickering, it has got us a long ways in the past few years, not. Happy sad 4th of July.

Ksolem, you are singling out a small part of BASE's post- I'm curious as to what you think about the rest of the post. Even TGT gave it props as 'thoughtful', which is the most positive praise I think I've ever seen from TGT for anyone not in his extreme right corner. (Yes, that's a dig.)

Death of the republicans is still going strong.

They still have not made a good policy that actually works for the people of the USA.
They are still hypocritical to the core.

(They being the politicians that all the rest of you stand behind and sing praise of at every opportunity)

However, he is not suppose to be playing partisan politics while the nation's economy goes to hell.

LOL.

That's funny, Lois.

Dude's a lightweight when it comes to partisan politics. I actually wish he was MORE partisan, but he tends to cave, hoping to preemptively get on the Right wingers' good side, but it never works.

Hey, I like this Base104 guy!

Seems like a pragmatist to me. The concept of going after information and educating oneself really appeals to me, as you guys know. My experience with others in the oil industry has tended to be that way.

Not like Lois, who will criticize the Imam, but will not spend 10 minutes listening to what the man actually says.

As for Skip, he apparently missed my post calling him out!

Ken, To be fair, I don't think that Lois was talking about the Imam. I doubt she listened to the tape. I think that She was talking to me about an earlier conversation.

Thats one of the problems that occurs on a forum, when people don't address who they are talking to.

Edit: Looks like she went back and addressed that post to me.

"I actually wish he was MORE partisan, but he tends to cave, hoping to preemptively get on the Right wingers' good side, but it never works."

That's what he gets for trying to be the MOR nice guy- shat upon, from all sides.

Obama has disenchanted the progressive base with his neo-Shrub continuation, and he's not likely to see the kind of turnout that he saw in '08. Still, he'll probably still be re-elected, simply because the GOP's offerings will likely be comprised of the 'tallest leprechaun'.

For the life of me, I can't understand just what it is about Obama's legacy thusfar that brings them to 'worst POTUS in history' view. In almost every key issue, he has been more aligned with the Right than the Left, with only a few social issue bones tossed to the Left to keep them 'hoping'. Ranting left-leaning cynics here will attribute the strength of the Right's reaction to the race issue, but that's bullsh#t- they are simply throwing negative characterizations right back where they came from (or their view is extremely narrow).

Lois. Ken made a mistake. Originally your post was not addressed to me, so it looked like you were talking about Kens post.

And if you wonder about his hostility. Just look in the mirror. Like I told you earlier, just because you put on a new name doesn't mean you get to leave your history behind.
