DAMIT, where'd my long thoughtful post just get off too ? Short version, stop teasing Tom and Klimmer, start teasing these folks spending over $100 million on the search for alien life. Randisi, (and I barely am barely able to type this as I shake with fear and revelation) is it possible that those ..... creatures.......are some sort of giant alien nephilim frozen in the, to them, alien soil of earth? And, should they be released, might they, in their rage, trigger some sort of apocalyptic Armageddon, snuffing out all life on earth, sending us all to meet G-d to atone for our (perceived) sins? Are they in fact a manifestation of the Donald? Seems pretty reasonable to me.

Just really big chess pawns.

The Nephilim are on a bigger scale than you are even imagining.

Any DNA testing on them? Would seem pretty straightforward to figure out, though mutations generate all kinds of organisms which seem anomalous to our expectations.

Nice cartoonograph Randisi! My suspicion is that the mud generated by the ice comet Moroni when it turned to comet juice after entering the earth's atmosphere captured those nephilim and then hardened, trapping them to this day.

I did a quick calculation as to the size of the ice comet Moroni. I assumed that Noah's Ark was grounded about halfway up Mt. Ararat, approximately 2500 m above sea level. Using this height I then calculated the volume of water needed to raise sea level to that height. Turns out the ice comet Moroni was about 1220 km in diameter, with a total volume of about 9.5 X 10^8 km^3. My guess is that it was moving pretty slowly when it struck the earth and turned to juice.

When it rained for forty days and nights, the rain was falling at about 2.6 m/hr, which is a heavy rain indeed!

Edited for spelling/grammar.

Celestial Phenomenon Over Nuremberg, April 14th, 1561.

455 years ago, today. The witnessing of some kind of alien spaceship battle occurring in the Bavarian skies. Must be true, since there were eye witnesses…

"In the threatening situation of the world today, when people are beginning to see that everything is at stake, the projection-creating fantasy soars beyond the realm of earthly organizations and powers into the heavens, into interstellar space, where the rulers of human fate, the gods, once had their abode in the planets.... Even people who would never have thought that a religious problem could be a serious matter that concerned them personally are beginning to ask themselves fundamental questions. Under these circumstances it would not be at all surprising if those sections of the community who ask themselves nothing were visited by `visions,' by a widespread myth seriously believed in by some and rejected as absurd by others." —C. G. Jung, in Flying Saucers : A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies

a world view perspective is sort of arbitrary as to how it was established in your mind

most people just accept their word view as the way it is, without questioning or critical examination

so how are you guys doing in there?

Winemaker....d-t d-t,

I'm no mathematician but if your suggesting that NASA uses the same formula for jet propulsion as the Stooges do for comedy I couldn't agree more.

Mo: You knuckleheads stay out of trouble and feed the cat out on the porch. (Countdown)

Larry: I didn't know our cat had a stripe down it's back! (Lift off)

Curly: Ya-ya-ya nyuk nyuk nyuk. (One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind)

Or something like that.
