Marlow,
the guy that shot the old man was a victim of an unfortunate situation.
Once I was riding my bike down the street in Toquerville and a dog ran out and bit my leg hard enough to tear through my jeans and make blood run down my leg.
I rode about 50' to get away from the dog, but the dog's owner, an old man, walked towards me and the dog advanced with him.
I told him to stop, but he didn't.
I took out my .22 and fired a shot into the ground in front of me.
The dog stopped advancing, and the owner took hold of his collar.
I told him that the dog had bitten me, and he responded, "Well he's old and nearly deaf."
I said, "Well his teeth aren't that old!", and obviously he wasn't deaf enough to hear a gunshot.
In the end he bought me new jeans, but that was broad daylight on the street.
If somebody with dogs came over my fence at night then he would likely get shot too if he refused to stop advancing.
If it is a senile old man then he shouldn't be permitted to wander.
Like I said that deputy made a serious lapse.
That day in Toquerville I came close to shooting the dog, and it would have been justified.
Although I'm sure there are bleeding hearts here that feel I should have just been carrying biscuits.

that dog had it coming, you had every right to kill it for one false move threatening your life.........

Pretty good targets.
I find it fascinating that just the mere mention of a gun will bring out the haters in droves....
And I laugh at the fact that the haters REALLY DO HATE YOU.... even though
most have never hung out with you.
I guess its the IDEAS you hold and the LIFE you live that gets them seeing RED, RED HATE... they want to kill you, really do, and anyone like you.

I dont hate you at all Ron. Just havin fun between jobs at work, keepin ya on yer toes. You,d be proud, last night at dusk i led a realy short pitch with nearly all nuts. I even had my little taurus, but nary a biscuit in site.
