LEB, you are a total idiot.

Kindly shut the fvck up now.

Sorry Lynne, I was actually climbing last week. There might even be a miserable boring trip report about Laurel Knob and Big Green, featuring ME, The maid, and the star and savior of the weekend , Shannon Stegg.

OF course he did subject us to the Shannon Stegg gets lost on purpose Big Green Chigger Death March. Very scenic, very buggy.

Keep it up Lois; you're driving their blood pressure through the ceiling. When Karen came in all I did was innocently whisper "Lipstick on a pig" and all hell broke loose. Gee, I thought I'd have to call the neighbors in to tie her down. Some folks are really touchy these days.

hey there dear folks... say, i did notice on thing here, not about the subject title though...but about having many kids...

and i dont mean no wrong to anyone, but i do need to add one note of thought:

after one of the more recent devestations in china, (i cannot remember the recent date) but there were folks in china that had lost their only child (as they were not allowed to have more than one child) and yes, perhaps if they had had more kids, things could have been worse in their family-food situation, or, they perhaps could have lost MORE than one child, but i kind of think (and that is just me, here) that they sure would have loved to have had at least a chance to have had more kids born, so that life could go on, with some that could have possibly survived, and thus, had some kind of a special family way left to them--one that they do not have now.... (not meaning that the single child that died, was not special)... and of course, that would mean an even bigger struggle for life, and not just for themself, but for the surviving child--but then, that is part of life... to try to live and care for your family, and sometimes care for them, above your own needs...

well, i think what i was just trying to say is, that having someone to love is special, and if some folks want a lot of kids, they must go by their heart, even if the world says it is "wrong".... not quite sure why i feel this way, but there is just something very special about having families, even large ones....

course, we all know what can happen if they are not raised right, and they become full of hate, etc.... but even one child full of hate, can do as much damage, perhaps, as a handful... and who knows, maybe the handful, can find some way to work together for the whole of there family, even better than one should or would perchance to do... one can't always tell....

so... this is a very tricky limitation to put on human folks...

but, sure didnt mean it wrong against any of you all, just wanted to share, since i am a mom....

Of course the Dems are fired up. Of course they are investigating Palin. Of course they are looking for every little bit of dirt. Nasty political tactics for sure, taken right from the Karl Rove campaign handbook.

Woody,
It's not our blood pressure that's up. It's our complete and utter astonishment about the the GOP has so completely rallied the troops by playing to the lowest common denominator.

dirtineye,
Easy there buddy. I agree LEB is a bonehead. She's been asked lots of time to support her views and has declined to do so time and time again. But still, let's keep this civil.

bookworm,
If you'd have done your research, you'd learn that that Daily Telegraph piece was written by a conservative talking head in Virginia. You'll also note that the author does not provide any facts to support his opinions. Typical of what we've been hearing all along about Palin. Lots of fluff; no facts.

Just one example: "She killed the Bridge to Nowhere."
The facts: She initially supported it, then changed her mind once the New York Times did a front page piece on it and McCain cited it as an example of pork. Nevertheless, she kept the federal funds intended for the bridge and spent them on highway projects on the island (the "Nowhere") the bridge was to link to the mainland.

That's reform (ahem, I mean lies) for ya! Sarah Palin is pork.

Basically, McCain blamed the 35W bridge collapse (in Minnesota) on wasted funds, including the Palin-supported Alaska Bridge projects and the subsequent $223 million that went towards Alaska.
Hehehe.

I hear Palin is gonna be the new spokesperson for Cover Girl lipstick.
Oh, and she signed on as the new spokesperson for "Sharpie", since she's the new "rock star", signing autographs like Britney Spears or Paris Hilton.
Hehehe.

Having a kid at 44, when you already have 4 kids is irresponsible. Choosing to have a child with Downs is not necessarily irresponsible in and of itself. But choosing to have him and then shuffle off his care on others--which she is most obviously doing--is clearly irresponsible.

In a stroke of brilliance today, Palin linked the attacks on 9/11 to the war in Iraq. Considering that Bush even now admits that they had nothing to do with each other, this is pretty amazing.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/11/AR2008091103789.html?hpid=topnews

FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska, Sept. 11 -- Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would "defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans."

From the article: "But it is widely agreed that militants allied with al-Qaeda have taken root in Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion."

So she is correct.

But the local Shiites and Sunni insurgents only tolerate al-Qaeda because they are helping fight us. If we left Iraq, al-Qaeda would not longer be welcome.

Well, one thing's for certain: I do have an impending sense of doom. Not that I'm a Dem, I'm more of a Libertarian. But if so many Americans are suckered into believing the Regrugitoids AGAIN, then I guess we deserve all we get.

How can folks on one hand say that Obama doesn't have enough experience, yet believe Palin does? It makes total sense, if you see that no matter what happens, dump people believe the lies they're being told.

It is truly amazing to me that the republican supporters, such as LEB, are so happy to see Palin help McCain win the election, but don't care what she can do once in the office. Her experience and beliefs scare me. That is just my opinion and I don't believe everyone should feel like me. Even McCain has stated that the VP's main job is to be ready to take command if soemthing should happen to the President. I think McCain threw out his own advise and went with someone who would help him win, not lead. Winning is too important to all of these politicians there is simply too much money involved. Taking care of the American people does not pay well. Taking care of special interest does pay well!

take care
