Hello everyone! My name is Jennie Trapanese, daughter of Joseph Trapanese. I was just wondering if anyone knows or knew my dad; last I heard he was in Washington State, but before that he lived in Cali. My dad absolutely loves rock climbing and had made many rock climbing buddies. I just hope there might be someone/ anyone here who might have known him or is in contact with him at this time.

Here are some photos, they are all I have.

Jennie - I saw your post over on another forum, and had made one here letting people know about it just a short while ago. But I see you have found your way here on your own and so - I deleted the one I made.

Good luck to you in your search.

the light on her face vs the light on his face, plus the funny lines on both sides of his head and shoulders.

at first i was just like... that looks odd, i mean its obviously an old picture, and scanned. but if you blow it up a little, it definitely looks chopped.

you might try zabasearch

http://www.zabasearch.com/query1_zaba.php?sname=JOSEPH%20TRAPANESE&state=ALL&ref=&se=&doby=&city=&name_style=1&tm=

you can narrow it down by state. they do have a listing for a joseph trapanese in north bend, wa.

Two years ago someone made a similar post, looking for a lost climber father who was well known here.

Thank you so much happiegrrrl.

He would be in his late 40's. I have no idea where the photos were taken except for that first photo which is in yosemite.

I know that he was in a rock climbing group somewhere in Visalia, Ca. at one point (about 7 years ago). He had also sent me a clipping of him in a magazine and one where they had referred to him as "Mighty Joe T". I’ll try to get more info on what the magazine had been called and that group he had belonged to. Sorry I don’t have much info to provide.

My grandfather is also named Joseph Trapanese and he does live in N.Bend, Washington. I will try cascadeclimbers.com as well, thanks so much for the site.

Photo #2 is not photoshopped. I didn’t have a scanner so I had taken a picture OF the picture so I could put it on the computer and it doesnt help that the photos are all beaten up. Thank you Raydog for fixing them up a bit.

This one is probably taken on the East Buttress of Middle Cathedral, given that El Cap is close in the background.

Judging from the shoes (Boreal Aces), probably around 1988?

Good Luck Girl... Someone will know him...
Send a few pics to the local climbing shops and gyms where he last lived. I bet one of his partners is hanging around there and knows where he has gone.
One thing for sure, I am sure he wants to be found by you. If he knew you were searching... He would be going "crazy" trying to reach back.

Plus, send me an email with the picture... I plan to visit Yosemite soon, I'll post it on the message board in camp 4... Heck... One of us should be doing that already!!!

the photos definitely portrait him as a (yosemite) climber ... i wouldn't be surprised if he actually surfs this forum himself , not to mention somebody recognizing him .

Could easily just be a little 'dodging' in photoshop.

I met Joe several years ago in the Southern Sierra. He was hanging with some climbers from the Visalia area who belonged to the Southern Sierra Climbers' Association. I will forward the link to your post to those people.
