NO, it is assuredly not true, and you have got yourself in some hot water now.
Deleting will not help you.
Come tomorrow I will be contacting the appropriate authorities in my state and the state where ST resides, and see what can be done about you.
I have written several ST admins, asking for their help in dealing with you.
This is BULLSH#T, and you will face some consequences.
What you deleted is copied to the admins, and to my PC.
It will be sent to whomever needs to see it.
Some things are beyond the pale, and this is one of them.

Lies are lies, they will be dealt with.
Richard, I suggest you take you comments about me off your blog before I can copy them.
This is not a joke.
My patience in this matter is at an end.
I meet people all the time in climbing who know me but I don't know them.
IF ONE of them ever does anything to cause me any harm whatsoever based on these lies, there will be legal hell to pay, particularly for the lie spreaders, and I promise you that.

As I understand the law, you can only recover damages for libel if the allegations are unfounded.
So as long as nobody comes forward saying they are true, then you just might have a case.
Only time will tell...
Edit: I just started laughing out loud when I thought of what kind of damages you
could expect to recover from a random post on a public internet forum––assumimg you've been wronged.
I mean, what kind of $$––ie, damages worthy of compensation––are we talking here?

Hardman Knott: You can only recover damages if there are actually damages. Sort of a legal crux there.
In addition, libel and slander need prove a malicious attempt to do grievious damage.
Furthermore, pots and kettles rarely have their day in court.

I would be willing to write some "cease & desist" letters with legal letterheads for $500 a letter if anyone needs them.
Sometimes just a letter from an attorney to cease & desist can do the job.
If the real goal is to get money, well, it is a nice trick to pull off. The targets must have some money to begin with!
Insolvency has its perks in these situations.
WTF have I done lately to be attacked again?
Is it OK if I suggest in nice fashion to dirtineye that he take the dirt OUT OF HIS EYE and then maybe his vision will become less obstructed? Would that be ok to ask or is that an attack?
Please advise, because I do not want to be misread as an attack again.

Another suggestion a lawyer MIGHT offer dirtineye would be for him to remove all the vitriol he has posted as a sign of good faith if he wanted the others to do like wise.
Sometimes a unilateral gesture can work and is worth a try in a case such as this.
