Good luck, Pat.

Be prepared for nausea, and a wired sensation. Those things deliver a quasi-nicotine overdose for the first 2 hours or so after application. Especially if you shave your area where the patch goes (as suggested in the directions).

I gotta give up the smokes too. I'll try again soon. I was rolling with the lozenges.

Good luck!

Gotta be better to pimp a patch than puff a butt when you're going into the wyde!

Good luck, bro!

You can do it man!!!!!

I just quit (using patches). It's been 4 months, I can honestly say I'm done smoking, permanently. I used the patch for about 5 weeks.

Patches helped incredibly. Just don't sleep with one on. You will have wicked nighmares.............................

P Kingbury, Good luck!!!! When it's time to go to smaller patches... it's cheaper to keep buying the big ones and cut them smaller.

That's what my husband did..but.. now he chews the nicotine gum...

I remember when I started them. They cut the need for nicotine well and as a side effect delivered vivid dreams. I also stayed on each level two weeks longer than suggested, knowing my addiction. I did quit 7 years ago.

The patches will do what there supposed to do, the rest is on you.
More than anything else, your will to quit must be paramount.

You can do it bro. One day at a time.

P. Kingsbury, yo will be in my serious prayers. Best decision you will ever make. Lungs when left alone without the cig smoke will slowly repair themselves. In my early 20's smoked 3+ packs a day for about 5 years. Looking back I think all I did was smoke and look for my next cig. Nasty. I still, all these years later, wake up some mornings from a dream that was so real I thought for sure I had smoked again. If I ever pick up a cig it will be the end. I avoid them at all costs. Peace and go for the peak Dude, you will top out. lynnie

Edit: Jaybro....so yo recreationally like to be nauseated....hmmmm :D

Double Edit: Grate Idea Munge ! We will talk him down. Peace, lrl

sorry, just posting out loud.

if you stay off them, you can send bigger and badder Odubs!

though, not sure that's a goal as much as not smoking the cigs is.

post up if you get a fit, we'll talk you down mang. like a bad trip, we'll get ya right.

You could just get on a big wall with PTPPete and take no smokes with you. Three weeks without being able to smoke should get you over the main hump. lol

Good luck!

I quit 3 months ago using the patch. I don't miss this:

Hey and don't do their expensive reduction: just buy another package of full-strength patches and cut them into thirds, then quarters - saves you a bunch of $$.

Also, for exercise, you may want to tape over the patch (they tend to pop off), and keep an extra or two with you at ALL TIMES for the first few weeks.

Good luck, breathe free,

Erik

I used to look forward to the weirdassed dreams when I was using the patch. Like David Lynch meets John Waters filtered through Ren & Stimpy with a Pink Floyd soundtrack.

The patch is what worked for me. No doubt about it, and I smoked for 33 years...
