First off, thanks to all of you for the kind comments to all my recollections over the years. It has been loads of fun.
Secondly, I have an unrelenting curiosity about the faces behind all the avatars here.
Thirdly, is there interest in a Supertaco reunion this fall? I might suggest the second Saturday in October, El Cap Meadow. Maybe starting around noonish.
I can be reached at steveseats1@gmail.com Kick it around over the next week.
Happy trails and thank you Steve Seats

Edit: not trying to shut down your idea. Just pointing out some things and adding to the possibilities.

Facelift is at the end of sept. Lots of folks from here go. Free camping, clean up the park, and meet a bunch of people. There are threads about it and how to sign up and whose going. You do have to sign up to get the free camping. Most folks try to get into Yellowpines, but splinter groups have formed for the other campgrounds as yellow pines is always a prime location. I would say probably 20 or 30 people from the Taco go each year. Some years its been over 50 people. We had a sushifest one year during facelift which Nature put on. And a former Tacoite Fattrad usually holds a meatfest one night where everyone gets together and barbecues.

If you search other years, you can see trip reports of all the people who go.

Here is a thread from 2017 that still has pictures on it. Mouse was one person who documented it a lot, but his pictures are gone.

Then there is the Oakdale Climbing festival in October.

I put together a climber’s camp on the Biafo Glacier in the Karakoram for this summer. It’s already booked but I’ll look for a bigger site with summer 2020 in mind.
Fattrad can do his meatfest but, since it’s in muslim Pakistan, no pork please. Oh, and bring your own booze...not available in Pakistan.

Facelift has more or less been the official unoffical gathering of the tribe.

Plus so many other gatherings from casual cragging to destination rendevouxs.

But that Facelift is the core of who we are, being in The Valley, plus the service aspect and the openness to all commers, even republicans.
