Why does it take a death to remember somebody? Let's pay more attention to each other while we're alive. Make that plan.

I am! I leave for home Wednesday morning. I have devoted much time to finishing our book as well as enjoying the beauty right outside my ginormous "office" window. So many friends going to the "heavenlies" has given me a sense of urgency.

Nice pic!

dave: Let's pay more attention to each other while we're alive.

In certain practices, Dave, that most comes about by paying close and honest attention to oneself compassionately. One is supposed to put on their own oxygen mask first. Sincere honest attention to others comes about when one realizes just how human oneself is.

Wake up, indeed.

well said Dave!!

a friend and i just discussed about a week ago that we had both waned in contact with Tom.

Better to take the trip, drive the miles, maintain, or build new and stronger relationships..

Now i will go to the meeting in October, historically the recluse, but i will go, too many good people to see.. thanks for the post..

Dave is wise.

Very true
It seemed in the Fire Service we always were gathering to mourn a death.
Time to wake up and say hello to your fellow climber, friend.
RIP to those who have passed

Yup. As I've grown older I regret the times delayed seeing friends or making a call to talk, only to have them pass before I knew it was happening.
