Did I just get trolled on FB, or did the road just get taken out by a big rockfall?

Can't find a Youtube, but here's what I saw

Not a troll. Really did happen. It will be at least May, if not longer, before they get it open.

Pretty gnarly, hope there are not grease stains and gas leaking out from under that pile.

Yeah, like the Rangers are going to allow that.

There's a trail up the Lone Pine Creek drainage from the desert to Whitney Portal. Now that I think of it it will be pretty nice up in there with all the riff-raff out.

The Lone Pine Creek trail starts at the day parking area of Lone Pine Campground. It is a really nice way to get to Whitney Portal, but I'm not sure where one could park overnight or multi-day in summer. I have used the day park to access North Ridge of Lone Pine from the desert floor in winter when the CG was officially closed.

It doesn't seem like Darrel and Myles to go trundling. Hope no one was hurt.
