I've found some relatively interesting boulders up on sussex county. usually hidden in the woods. just drive around. the granite (?) can actually be fairly interesting. Been to the gap a few times, poison ivy approach, gnarly wierd placements, big overhangs, huge holds, dirt and loose rock, and huge trucks going 80 less than 200 yards away. Two years ago my promises of a fun experience climbing to my 8 year old nephew (who had never climbed) turned into a teary eyed fright fest for him. still feel like an ass. the full jersey experience.

In Princeton there are a few places. If you want, I can send you a pdf with a guide to Jersey climbing

There are a few minor boulders scattered around Princeton.
The really good ones, Cradle Rock, are on very private property. Owner does not allow access.
There are a couple boulders in Woodfield Reservation. One probably has nothing harder than V1-. The other has some easy V0 stuff and a slab - mantle finish that I have never been able to do. Maybe just too worried about dental work?
Another set of boulders on maybe private property or a park, but it does not want to get well known.
None of these probably merit more than 20 minute car trip. We used to walk to the ones in Woodfield.
There is a guide book Rock Climbing in New Jersey. Paul Nick, Neil J.A. Sloane. It has details on Sussex climbing. I have not been there, but a friend likes stuff up there. He likes to climb away from crowds, so a hike into something is his preferred climbing.

OT - Day in. Day out. Rt. 1 is ok, except at rush hour.
I cross it only at that time (to get to the gym). :-)
As far as your tendencies, perhaps a hot-line might be better. I have not had much success with mental illness, and hope never to have any suicide issues to deal with.
Back on topic.
Allamuchy has small amount of interesting climbing. But I consider that North Jersey.

There are isolated boulders around Sparta and some more up near High Point SP that I've played on in fits of boredom when visiting. They are there, you just have to look, and you have to be pretty desperate.

I found a couple off of green road and sawmill. Like I said,
nothing to get too excited about. How do you become a hardman in Sparta?

Patterson ain't that bad. I use to work in a wharehouse on N. 11 st. in newark right by east orange off of park ave. rumor was UPS would not deliver a block away because they feared for their life. I walked down that block one time just to see how bad it was. Had 5 black guys surround me. I just put my shoulder into the biggest dude and kept walking. they never messed with me after that.
